The cover includes a deflecting device having at least one block (24) formed on an inner face of a side wall (20) of the cover and at least one projection (11) formed on lateral face (10) of the base. Before the cover slides on the base, each projection is positioned in front of each corresponding block. When the driving device is operated, the block climbs up the projection thereby displacing the cover relative to the base to avoid a front end (42) of a terminal (4) and then to get over and drop down the projection thereby reverting the cover to a level location relative to the base.

Each terminal forms upper and lower spring arms partially extending beyond the corresponding passageway, a curved linking portion for connecting the upper and lower arms, and a securing arm extending from the lower arm towards the upper arm and secured to the insulative housing. A barb is formed on an edge of each triangular plate. The cover defines a plurality of apertures therein for receiving a plurality of terminals. A plurality of elongate standoffs is formed on a bottom surface of the cover with an opening defined in a lateral face of each standoff. The barbs of the base are slidably received in the slots of the cover thereby connecting the base and the cover together. The standoffs of the cover extend beyond a bottom surface of the base.

摘要： A package socket system includes a positioning frame positioned on a circuit board. The positioning frame has an interior space defined between four side walls for receiving and accommodating a BGA socket that retains an array of contacts therein. The contacts have a lower ball end in contact engagement with and supported on conductive pads of the circuit board. A BGA package having an array of solder balls is received in the positioning frame and supported on the socket with the solder balls received in flared upper ends of the contacts of the socket. A heat sink has a flat base supported on the positioning frame and secured to the substrate to establish a firm contact engagement with the package thereby securely maintaining the package and the socket in position on the substrate. The positioning frame has a chamfered section and the socket and the package each have a corresponding chamfered corner for positioning purposes.
