Abstract: A rearview assembly is disclosed. The rearview assembly may comprise an electro-optic element, a display element, and/or a sensor. The electro-optic element may comprise first and second substrates, an electro-optic medium, and a spectral filter. The first and second substrates may be disposed in a substantially spaced apart relationship and may have first and second edges, respectively. The electro-optic medium is disposed between the first and second substrates. The spectral filter may be substantially opaque in appearance and disposed in a peripheral manner on the first substrate. Additionally, the first and second substrates have a substantial miss-match where a line bisecting the first substrate does not bisect the second substrate. The display element is operable to display a digital image. The sensor is operable to sense a condition and generate a signal based thereon. Additionally, the sensor may be optically aligned with the miss-match.

Abstract: A vehicle monitoring system is configured to monitor a scanning region depicting a subject and includes a monitoring apparatus configured to capture scanning data in the scanning region depicting the subject. A feedback apparatus is configured to communicate alignment information from a portion of the vehicle to the subject. The alignment information indicates an alignment of the subject in the scanning region. A concealment apparatus is configured to conceal the scanning apparatus and selectively transmit the alignment information from the feedback apparatus. The system further includes a controller configured to activate the feedback apparatus revealing the alignment information identifying the alignment of the subject within the scanning region of the monitoring apparatus. The controller is further configured to control the scanning apparatus to capture the scanning data of the subject and monitor the subject in the scanning data.

Abstract: A rearview assembly includes a housing and a display assembly that is operably coupled with the housing. An actuation assembly is adjacent the housing and is configured to activate a plurality of features of the rearview assembly. The actuation assembly includes a single button that is operable between engaged and disengaged positions. A plurality of tactile indicia are spaced along the single button and are configured to indicate a particular function of the rearview assembly. A proximity sensor assembly is disposed on the single button and is configured to sense proximity of a user. A conductive contact assembly is operably coupled with the housing and configured to send a signal to a processor to activate a function of the rearview assembly.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for an accessory for a vehicle. The accessory comprises a housing forming a front surface configured to display a rearward directed field of view from the vehicle and a rear surface directed in a forward operating direction of the vehicle. An at least partially light transmissive panel is directed toward a front windscreen of the vehicle and is in connection with the rear surface. A light source is disposed in the housing proximate the light transmissive panel and is configured to emit light through the at least partially light transmissive panel. A controller is in communication with the light source. The controller is configured to receive an indication of an operating condition of the vehicle and selectively activate the light source in response to the operating condition of the vehicle.
