Abstract: A display device is provided and includes display panel; sensor substrate formed on display panel; and M drive electrodes and detection electrodes extended in direction so as to intersect with M drive electrodes, wherein among M drive electrodes, any of lengths of N first drive electrodes, which are continuously adjacent to one another, is shorter than any of lengths of other N second drive electrodes which are continuously adjacent to one another, and number of detection electrodes which intersect with N first drive electrodes is larger than number of detection electrodes which intersect with N second drive electrodes.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate opposing the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer, at least one first detection electrode disposed in a display area and a plurality of second detection electrodes disposed in a peripheral area. In a display period in which images are displayed on the display area, a predetermined voltage is applied to the first detection electrode to drive the liquid crystal layer, and in a period in which the liquid crystal layer is not driven, the first detection electrode is set to a state of being not electrically connected to anywhere or being connected to a predetermined potential with an impedance of 50 kΩ or higher.
