The multifunctional filter comprises comprising a removal component that is capable of removing a contaminant from the lipophilic fluid being treated and an addition component that is capable of adding a releasing agent to the lipophilic fluid being treated.

Water structurants are used in combination with a lipophilic fluid and water to deliver fabric care benefits to a fabric article in a non-aqueous fabric treatment system. Water structurants are effective in minimizing fabric damages (e.g., shrinkage, pilling, loss of shapes) from the fabric treatment process. Compositions comprising the water structurants for use in a non-aqueous fabric treating process are also disclosed. The compositions are capable of delivering the fabric care benefits to the fabric article and minimizing fabric damages.

The present invention relates to sulfur dye protection systems and compositions and methods employing same, as well as processes for making sulfur dyes, especially bleach stable sulfur dyes, processes for dying textiles with sulfur dyes and textiles dyed by such processes. More particularly, the present invention relates to modifying existing dyes and/or making newly formed sulfur dyes. Even more particularly, the present invention relates to materials that can chemically or physically interact with sulfur dyes to protect the sulfur dyes from oxidation by oxidizing agents, such as bleaching agents.

A method for the treatment of a non-finished textile component is provided. The method comprises the steps of treating a non-finished textile component in an aqueous bleaching solution of hydrogen and a hydrophobic bleach activator or hydrophobic peracid. Preferred bleach activators include the alkanoyloxybenzene sulfonates and in particular noanoyloxybenzene sulfonate. The method provides superior fiber protection and fabric strength benefits versus conventional processing as well as significant savings in both energy and time due to the lower bleaching temperatures.

New clerodane compounds isolated from plant material from Dodonaea polyandra are disclosed. The compounds have anti-inflammatory activity. Pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions containing the compounds, as well as methods of treating inflammation using the compounds, are also disclosed.
