摘要： A modular office panelling system has been improved by providing an air circulation arrangement of selectively cool or remove heat from a particular area defined by the panelling system. Fans are provided in removable panel cover portions which can advantageously be secured in the office panelling system in the same manner as fabric covered removable cover portions. Thus, the air circulation arrangement may be provided as an original specification or added as a retrofit in the field. The interior of the panel is also used as a large inlet plenum whereby the flow of air into the panel is at a slow velocity.

摘要： Securement and cooperation between panels of an office panelling system is improved by mechanically connecting panels in a manner to maintain a particular orientation and to allow transfer of loads therebetween. The mechanical fasteners are advantageously combined with compressible strips between panels which not only deform during fastening of the fasteners, but engage the panel and distribute the clamping force to a larger area thereby adding structural rigidity.

摘要： An element of an office panel includes a back support member closed at either end by molded end pieces. The molded end pieces in combination with the back support member define a front opening recess into which a filler material is inserted. A decorative facing material is applied over the filler material and attached to the back support member and the molded end pieces, whereby the facing material forms a finish face of the element. With this arrangement, the back support member is more easily manufactured, as it is open at either end and the molded end pieces can easily be inserted within the back support member to effectively close the member and provide a complete support for the element. According to an aspect of the invention, the molded end pieces include molded components thereon by means of which the element can be effectively supported by an office panel frame.

摘要： A power column providing a conduit for power and communications wiring in a building includes a column structure having electrical power outlets and video data modules (VDMs) accessible on opposite flat end faces of the column structure. An isolated electrical raceway within the column structure includes the electrical outlets. The column structure is pre-wired electrically with wiring that extends through the raceway to the top end of the structure. Pre-wiring allows the column to be installed and then connected to an electrical supply after installation.
