Disclosed is a developer storage container including a container body and a shutter. The container body has a developer discharge port and is capable of being changed in posture. The shutter is configured to sealingly close or open the developer discharge port, and includes a shutter body, a swingable member and a shaft displacement restriction portion. The shutter body has a sealing surface for sealingly closing the developer discharge port, and a pair of bearing portions. The swingable member has a pair of shaft portions each pivotally supported by a respective one of the pair of bearing portions. The swingable member is swingable between a restriction position where it restricts a sliding movement of the shutter, and a permission position where it permits the sliding movement of the shutter. The shaft displacement restriction portion is configured to restrict an axial movement of the pair of shaft portions.

The first sidewall includes: a shaft hole (313S) communicating between an outside of the container body and the storage space; and a support portion (313T) supporting a distal end of a coupling (342) of the stirring member from therebelow to prevent the stirring member from falling onto the bottom portion, in a state in which a distal pivot portion (341) of the stirring member is inserted into the bearing portion, and the coupling is disposed facing the shaft hole.

The main unit includes a housing, a guide mechanism, a fastening portion, a locking portion, and a lock release portion. The developer container is mounted into the mounting section in a first orientation being guided by the guide mechanism, and subsequently the container body is rotated in a first rotational direction so that the developer container changes to a second orientation in which the developer discharge port communicates with the developer supply port. The lock release portion is permitted to release the locking of the developer container so that the container body rotates to return to the first orientation.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, an image carrier, a developing device, a developer housing container, and a regulating member. The developer housing container takes a posture changeable between a first posture and a second posture. The developer discharge port communicates with the developer replenishment port such that the developer is replenishable to the developing device in the first posture. The second posture locates the developer discharge port separate from the developer replenishment port and seals the developer discharge port. The regulating member allows the cover member to be closed with respect to the apparatus main body while the developer housing container takes the first posture in the apparatus main body. The regulating member regulates the cover member to be closed with respect to the apparatus main body by an interference with the developer housing container while the developer housing container takes the second posture.

The positioning mechanism is disposed on the guiding portion, and provided with a first urging member and a unit-abutting portion for abutting on the image forming unit. The positioning mechanism positions the image forming unit by urging the image forming unit when attached into the apparatus main body in a first position. The posture-switchable lever member is provided swingably on the image forming unit and switches between a first posture in which the posture-switchable lever member locks the image forming unit in the first position within the apparatus main body, and a second posture in which the posture-switchable lever member releases the lock on the image forming unit and permits the image forming unit to be detached from the apparatus main body along the attachment/detachment direction.

The container holder is supported movably within the opening by attaching the toner container. The detecting unit includes a switching part switching a first position detecting an attaching condition of the toner container and a second position detecting a not-attaching condition of the toner container. The movable member interlocks with an opening/closing operation of the cover and switches the switching part of the detecting unit by moving. The movable member can move in a switching direction of the switching part from the second position to the first position when the cover is closed in the attaching condition. The movable member is restricted from moving in the switching direction by the container holder when the cover is closed in the not-attaching condition.
