Abstract:
A connectivity system capable of use with a desk (199) having a surface containing an aperture (120) includes a grommet (210, 610, 1010, 1210) and a connection hub (220, 620, 1020, 1220). The grommet has an interior surface (212, 612, 1012, 1212). The connection hub includes a connection port (221, 621, 1121, 1321) and a perimeter (222, 622, 1022, 1222). The surface of the desk defines a first plane (150) that forms a division between a first side (160) of the first plane and a second side (170) of the first plane. A portion of the perimeter of the connection hub is spaced apart from the interior surface of the grommet such that the perimeter and the interior surface define a passageway (310, 710, 720, 1070, 1080, 1270) therebetween through which a cable may be passed from the first side to the second side of the surface of the desk.
Abstract:
An electrical power delivery system includes a base (110) having a first surface (111) and a second surface (112) spaced apart from the first surface by a first sidewall (113). The electrical power delivery system also includes a platform (120) extending away from the second surface of the base such that the platform covers a portion of but less than all of the second surface. The platform itself includes a third surface (121) substantially parallel to the second surface and spaced apart from the second surface by a second sidewall (122) that is substantially perpendicular to the second surface. A first electrical power outlet (130) is located at the third surface, and a second electrical power outlet (140) is located at the second sidewall. A power cord (150) is physically and electrically coupled either to the base or to the platform.
Abstract:
Articles for supporting computers on users' laps and for isolating the users from heat from the computers. Embodiments may include a body, a top surface for contacting the computer, a bottom surface for contacting the user's lap, and back and front walls or surfaces. In various embodiments, the body defines a hollow area and a side opening, the back is taller than the front, the top surface is at an acute angle to the bottom surface, the bottom surface has a greater horizontal dimension from front to back than the top surface, the bottom surface has a greater horizontal dimension from left to right than the top surface; the article has a cross section that is a trapezoid (e.g., isosceles), the article comprises a foam portion (e.g., tubular) and fabric covering the foam portion, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, each surface comprises the foam covered with fabric.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a carrying case for computer and electronic accessories containing a foldable mouse pad 90. The foldable mouse pad includes a perimeter extending around the mouse pad 130, wherein the perimeter contains a fastener 120, so that when the mouse pad folds it can form a storage pouch. Other embodiments of the present invention provide a mouse pad 200 having a pocket 220 for storage of computer and electronic accessories and a mouse pad comprising a perimeter of piping 180 to prevent a mouse from sliding off the mouse pad on an uneven surface.
Abstract:
An article for supporting a computer on a user's lap that cools the computer and isolates the user from heat, and methods of manufacture. Some embodiments include a body, a top surface, a bottom surface, a hollow area in between, an aperture through the top surface to the hollow area, and either a fan to move air through the aperture or an indentation in the top surface to allow air to circulate by the computer. Embodiments include a foam portion, a plastic portion that provides stiffness, a fabric covering and one or more side or rear openings to allow airflow. The fan may be powered from a USB port on the computer.
Abstract:
An electrical component (100) includes: (a) an electrical charge storage component (110) comprising one or more first power connectors (211); (b) a first power component (130) capable of outputting alternating current to a first electrical device and comprising one or more second power connectors (412); and (c) a second power component (150) capable of outputting direct current to a second electrical device and comprising one or more third power connectors (612).
Abstract:
There is disclosed a snowboard binding system for a soft style snowboard boot. The snowboard binding system includes a base plate mounted to the snowboard and a toe strap unit, a heel loop, and a highback mounted to the base plate. Mounted to the heel loop is a secondary strap device which wraps around the back of the boot. Wrapping over the top of the boot is the ankle strap unit which is mounted to the secondary strap device. The secondary strap device and ankle strap have a plurality of adjustment holes for selective adjustment of the binding for greater support or for more flexibility. The secondary strap device works in conjunction with the ankle strap to provide better heel hold to the snowboard, thereby resulting in enhanced snowboard performance. The secondary strap device also reduces the pressure exerted across the top of the boot from the ankle strap resulting in better comfort.
