The intelligent, automated surveillance system collects the interactions between the security personal and the surveillance system during the handling of an alarm. Each alarm is modeled as a “transaction” and each operation/action that a security personal executes modeled as an “event” within the transaction. The collected events within the transaction are in partial order. Furthermore, the system provides a scoring system for a security manager to evaluate the performance of the security guard. The score of the sequence of actions that the security guard performed manually and the system performed automatically for each set of dependent alarms are used to decide future sequence of operation. Security guards can overwrite the automatic sequencing of actions with manual sequence of operations.

The Web customer contact system is based on distributed execution of service logic programs that can be dynamically altered based on changing business needs. The distributed and dynamic program modification makes the Web customer contact system scalable and customization to the most demanding business operation needs. For example, existing workflow based GUI programming tool, which only support centralized specification, down load and execution of routing rules for incoming calls in a contact center. The new system WCC system can allow user to specify a set of service logic program (SLP) can be dynamically attached to any distributed “addressable entities” in the WCC system. The addressable entities can be a user, an agent, an email box, a work group, IVR system, or a department web site. The addressable entities can be located anywhere that can be reached by internet address (an URL or other types of identities). The SLP associated with the addressable entities can be dynamically downloaded from the “home” location of the SLP. The SLP allows a business to define the way of handling customer's messages such as call, chat and email in a flexible and programmable way using an open specification interface such as, XML technology.

A metadata database adaptor for use with a surveillance and/or sensor system is capable of adapting metadata messages of varying formats according to needs of metadata databases. In other aspects, a metadata data model template can allow a user to define a data definition that is used to map user defined data with the metadata data model template to form XML data schema. Template mapping knowledge can then be applied for fast XML data schema to non-XML database schema generation without translation processing. In yet other aspects, an application domain template can allow a user to define a query definition that can then be processed with a mapping of the application domain template to translate Xpath, Xquery, or others to a database query.

An agent-based telephony system is provided for establishing a call between two or more telephony devices interconnected through an automated call dispatch server. The automated call dispatch server includes a call control agent for processing call requests; a call resource management agent in communication with the call control agent for allocating and controlling the resources needed to establish a call between telephony devices; and a resource control agent in communication with the call resource management agent for providing a hardware-dependent interface to the telephony devices.

A method for determining a transformation matrix used to transform data from a first image of a space to a second image of the space is disclosed. The method comprises receiving image data from a video camera monitoring the space, wherein the video camera generates image data of an object moving through the space and determining spatio-temporal locations of the object with respect to a field of view of the camera from the image data. The method further comprises determining observed attributes of motion of the object in relation to the field of view of the camera based on the spatio-temporal locations of the object, the observed attributes including at least one of a velocity of the object with respect to the field of view of the camera and an acceleration of the object with respect to the field of view of the camera. The method also includes determining the transformation matrix based on the observed attributes of the motion of the object.
