Abstract: A wireless power transmitting device according to an embodiment of the present specification transmits wireless power to a wireless power receiving device, and includes a power conversion circuit including a primary coil for transmitting the wireless power to the wireless power receiving device and a communication/control circuit for communicating with the wireless power receiving device and controlling the power conversion circuit, wherein, to detect foreign substances between the wireless power receiving device and the wireless power transmitting device, the communication/control circuit stops the transmission of the wireless power for a slot time, detects the foreign substances on the basis of a change in the voltage or current of the primary coil within the slot time, and sets the slot time to start from a point in time when the current of the primary coil is 0.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for performing power calibration in a wireless power transmission system. The present specification provides a wireless power transmission apparatus comprising: a power conversion unit configured to transmit, in a power transfer phase, wireless power generated on the basis of magnetic coupling to a wireless power receiving device; and a communication/control unit configured to perform an initial calibration for a power parameter prior to the power transfer phase, receive a first received power packet from the wireless power receiving device indicating the power received by the wireless power receiving device during the power transfer phase, and detect foreign matter by using the received power and a first power loss determined on the basis of the initial calibration. It is possible to adaptively respond to a newly changed wireless charging environment to calibrate transmission power and reception power, and it is possible to detect foreign matter more precisely by detecting a power loss on the basis of the calibrated transmission and reception power.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for performing handover between heterogeneous communication methods. A wireless power transmission apparatus and reception apparatus can indicate whether to support out-band communication thereof on the basis of an out-band flag. The wireless power transmission apparatus can request the wireless power reception apparatus to start a handover by using a bit pattern requesting the handover. The handover procedure to out-band may be performed in a negotiation phase or may be performed in a separate handover phase. Information for establishing an out-band communication connection can be transmitted from the wireless power reception apparatus to the wireless power transmission apparatus through in-band communication. Also, even after the handover to the out-band is completed, it is possible to periodically or intermittently perform the in-band communication in a power transmission phase to detect a swap of the wireless power reception apparatus.
