Abstract: A negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery in which lithium precipitation is suppressed. The negative electrode implements a high degree of orientation of a carbon-based active material contained in a first region of the negative electrode active layer, so that the effect of suppressing lithium precipitation at an end of the negative electrode active layer during charging and discharging of a secondary battery is excellent. Accordingly, a lithium secondary battery including the negative electrode active layer has high safety, and has the advantage of being able to charge and discharge for a long time under high rate conditions. A lithium secondary battery including the negative electrode is also provided.

Abstract: A magnetic alignment device applies a magnetic field to a negative electrode slurry by introducing a magnet part to an upper and a lower portion of a negative electrode current collector on which the negative electrode slurry is applied, respectively. By applying a stronger magnetic field in a second region of the magnet part located downstream along the transfer direction of the negative electrode current collector than in a first region of the magnet part located upstream, and by arranging a drying part adjacent to the end of the second region where the stronger magnetic field is applied, a negative electrode having a significantly higher alignment of the carbon-based negative electrode active material contained in the negative electrode slurry can be manufactured. A method for manufacturing a negative electrode using the magnetic alignment device is also provided.

Abstract: An electrode manufacturing apparatus includes a support roll supporting an electrode sheet, at least one pressure roll, a level sensor, and a control unit. The electrode sheet includes a coated portion and an uncoated portion, and the support roll transports the electrode sheet in a first direction. The pressure roll contacts the support roll with the electrode sheet disposed therebetween and pressurizes the uncoated portion of the electrode sheet. The level sensor detects a level of the uncoated portion, and the control unit controls the pressure roll in response to the level detected by the level sensor. The at least one pressure roll is movable in a second direction crossing the first direction.
