Abstract:
The object of the invention is to introduce an advanced method and arrangement for changing parallel data transmission connections in an assured data transmission link. According to the method of the invention, the transmission path to be received is changed, prior to the passage of errors, and the data transmission of the link remains free of errors, in case even one of the transmission paths transmits the data as error-free, even if errors occur in other paths. The error-free quality of the link is maintained also when error-free and erroneous data transmission paths are suddenly exchanged. This is realised by calculating, in the parallel outdoor units (OU) located in succession to the common indoor unit (IU), a check sum for the transmission paths, for the data located in the interval under observation, said check sum enabling error correction; by checking the correctness of the data in the receiving outdoor units or by correcting small correctable errors; and by selecting, in the receiving indoor unit, on the basis of a quality factor describing the error-free quality of paths, another more error-free transmission path, in case for instance weather conditions cause errors in the currently employed connection.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a radio communications system including a base station, a digital exchange, and a transmission system connecting the base station, and the digital exchange. The base station includes an antenna section, an RF receiver section for receiving an RF uplink signal from the antenna section, a mechanism for providing a digitised downconverted uplink signal from the received RF signal, and a mechanism for transferring the digitised down converted uplink signal to the digital exchange through the transmission system. The digital exchange includes a mechanism for receiving the digitised downconverted uplink signal and a mechanism for baseband processing of the digitised downconverted uplink signal.
Abstract:
A base station receiver of a wireless communications system is provided with a channel analyser that, on the basis of an information derived from an RF signal received from user equipment over an air interface, provides channel status information representing a condition of a transmission channel between the user equipment and the base station receiver. The operation of a modulation detector, a jamming detector, and/or a selector selecting a burst detector is controlled on the basis of the estimated channel status information.
Abstract:
A method, device, system, and computer code product provide shared applications for mobile terminals operating in a communication network. The system includes a first mobile terminal and a second mobile terminal in communication with the first mobile terminal. The method comprises configuring a first version of an application for execution on the first mobile terminal, connecting the first mobile terminal to the second mobile terminal, transferring a second version of the application to the second mobile terminal using the connection, and limiting an execution of the second version of the application. In an alternative embodiment, the method comprises initiating execution of an application at a first mobile terminal, connecting the first mobile terminal With a second mobile terminal, sending a view of the executing application from the first mobile terminal to the second mobile terminal, and receiving the view of the executing application from the first mobile terminal at the second mobile terminal.
Abstract:
A method, an electronic device and a computer program, for document link presentation and selection in an electronic device. In the method a first hypertext page comprising at least one separate link area is opened in an electronic device. At least part of said first hypertext page is displayed in a view window movable in the area of said first hypertext page. A link area nearest to a first point on said view window is determined. A link list comprising links associated with said link area is formed. As a user selects a first link in the link list and a second hypertext page indicated by the first link is opened in the electronic device.
