摘要: An organic light-emitting device comprising an active layer for producing radiation having a first side surface and a second side surface adjoining a corner edge. A first contact strip extends along the first side surface for injecting charge carriers of a first type into the active layer. A second contact strip extends along the second side surface for injecting charge carriers of a second type into the active layer. The first side surface has a recessed region adjoining the corner edge, and the injection of charge carriers from the first contact strip is suppressed in the recessed region.

Preferably, the height of the photo-resist layer is less than or equal to about three microns and more, preferably, about one micron.

摘要: An organic polymer solution is made of at least one organic polymer, a first solvent, and a second solvent. The first solvent has a high solubility (e.g., the first solvent dissolves at least about one weight percent of the organic polymers) and has a faster evaporation rate than the second solvent, and the second solvent has a very low solubility (e.g., the second solvent dissolves less than about one-fourth weight percent of the organic polymers). After the solution is deposited on an object, the solution is allowed to dry. As the solution dries, the first solvent due to its faster evaporation rate than the second solvent starts to evaporate from the solution, and soon after the first solvent starts to evaporate, the one or more organic polymers, due to its lower solubility in the second solvent, rapidly gels resulting in a substantially uniform organic polymer layer.

摘要: In a first embodiment of the invention, an organic electronic device is encapsulated using an epoxy that includes a desiccant. The epoxy is around a perimeter of the organic electronic device. The epoxy bonds an encapsulation lid to a substrate and also absorbs oxygen and/or moisture. The desiccant in the epoxy is: barium oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, cobalt chloride, calcium chloride, calcium bromide, lithium chloride, zinc chloride, zinc bromide, sodium molevular, silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, calcium sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, titanium dioxide, bentonite, acidic clay, montmorillonite, diatomaceous earth silica alumina, zeolite, silica, zirconia, activated carbon, or a mixture thereof.
