    摘要: An optical fibre installation includes (i) a part defining an inlet for optical fibres that has a through-hole for the passage of optical fibres and an associated mating region for a push-fit connector, (ii) an optical fibre cable connected to an adapter that defines a connection region having a predetermined cross-section for mating with a push-fit connector and (iii) a push-fit connector having a first end, a second end, a through-passage extending between those ends and a seal associated with the first end. The second end of the push-fit connector is push-fit connected to the connection region of the adapter and the first end of the push-fit connector is push-fit connected with the mating region of the inlets in such a way that the seal sealingly engages the inlet defining part. The arrangement is such that optical fibres from the optical fibre cable can be directed through the push-fit connector and the through-hold of the inlet.

The fiber routing device (70) has an outlet (78) for feeding fibers from the customer side of the optical fiber network into the second inlet (13) and two inlets (72, 74) for receiving the customer-side optical fibers for feeding to its outlet.

The assembly may comprise a plurality of housings for housing connections between optical fibers and a guide arrangement for guiding optical fibres into the housings.     摘要: An optical fiber connection terminal for use in the office or domestic environment includes a three-part module, having a base unit, an organizer unit and a top unit. An optical fiber cable, such as a blown fiber cable, is brought to the base unit where both the outer covering and the secondary coated optical fibers carried by the cable are secured against tensile forces. The three units of the module are then designed to store fiber, to hold splice protectors where necessary, and to provide a well protected route for the fibers from the cable to an easily accessible connection point for customer use in the top unit of the module. Connection or termination of each fiber at the connection point can be made and remade, drawing spare fiber length from a storage area in the module without disassembling the module. An important part of the module lies in a cam action clamping mechanism for retaining fiber within the module. The module provides an optical fiber connection terminal (which is equivalent in size to a conventional electrical supply terminal) for connection of domestic or office equipment to an optical communications network.

The transfer arrangement incudes an aperture formed in the fibre management unit, a mandrel mounted in the fibre management unit adjacent to the aperture and positioned so that the optical fibre lies between the mandrel and the aperture, and a probe housing the optical device. The probe is provided with an optical head in optical communication with the optical device, and with an arrangement for moving the optical head into the aperture so as to deform the optical fibre against the mandrel sufficiently to permit light to be tapped between the optical fibre and the optical head.
