    摘要: A method and system for providing fuel to primary and secondary fuel nozzles in a gas turbine engine fuel system comprises generating a fuel flow and routing primary fuel from the fuel flow to a primary fuel nozzle. Backpressure on the fuel flow is maintained using a valve. The valve is opened at increased fuel flow to route secondary fuel from the fuel flow to a secondary fuel nozzle. The valve is progressively opened under increasing fuel flows to reduce a pressure drop across the valve produced by the secondary fuel.

A variable orifice valve controls the flow of fuel between the inlet and the outlet in conjunction with a fixed orifice of an engine such that the relationship between pressure and fuel flow is substantially linear. A pressure-regulating valve accommodates pressure fluctuations in the system. A dual torque motor opens in proportion to the level of applied electrical current to control fuel pressure and thereby fuel flow.

    摘要: According to the present invention, a fuel control has an electronic primary control for scheduling a flow of fuel to an engine in a primary mode and hydromechanical secondary control for scheduling the flow of fuel to the engine in a backup mode. The fuel control also has a tracking piston and link whose position is responsive to the HMU during the operation of the electronic primary control. The tracking piston and link effectively changes the power lever angle sensed by the HMU so that in the event of a transfer of control from the electronic primary control to the HMU, changes in the scheduled fuel flow to the engine are minimized.

    摘要: A hydraulic control system for a jet aircraft engine has an electronic control that commands a pair of torque motors to ultimately control the position of each one of a plurality of two-position, "latching" hydraulic actuator valves. A first torque motor is operable with a three-position, on/off hydraulic valve. The second torque motor operates in conjunction with a second valve to control the linear position of the spool of a multiplexer selector valve. The multiplexer selector valve has a plurality of positions that the spool can be linear translatable to. At each position is located a pair of control ports to which are ultimately connected one side of each of a pair of corresponding hydraulic actuator valves. The actuator valves may comprise fuel or air valves. A selected fuel or air actuator valve is translated between one of its two positions by translating the spool of the multiplexer selector valve to the appropriate position and then porting high pressure hydraulic fluid to that actuator valve for a predetermined period of time. The control system can asynchronously chose any fuel or air actuator valve to translate, as necessary, at any point in time.

    摘要: In a fuel staging system, metered fuel from a fuel metering unit is directed into a fuel inlet line coupled to a sequence valve. A minimum pressure valve maintains the pressure of the fuel flowing through the fuel inlet line at a minimum pressure above the low pressure of the system in order to ensure sufficient force margins to stroke the sequence valve. A main fuel manifold is coupled downstream of the sequence valve, and a plurality of main fuel nozzles are each coupled to the main fuel manifold through a respective main nozzle shut-off valve. A first set of pilot nozzles is coupled to the main fuel manifold through the sequence valve, and a second set of pilot nozzles is coupled to the main fuel manifold through the sequence valve. At low engine speeds, in the first and/or second pilot open positions, fuel flows to either pilot nozzle through the main fuel manifold, and the main fuel nozzles are isolated from the main fuel manifold by the main nozzle shut-off valves. Then, at higher engine speeds, the main nozzle shut-off valves are opened, and the sequence valve splits the fuel flow from the fuel inlet line between the main fuel manifold and the first and second pilot nozzles. The fuel in the main fuel manifold flows to the main fuel nozzles, and the remainder of the fuel split off by the sequence valve flows to the first and second pilot nozzles.
