摘要： Information is received in a transmission from a network about a free sample in response to a request. The information includes an advertising account to which a merchant can charge the cost of the free sample provided to a consumer, and also an identifier and quantity of the free sample. The information is written to the memory of a portable consumer transaction payment device where, also encoded in the memory, is an account issued by an issuer to the consumer for the consumer to engage in transactions on the account with merchants in a payment processing network. Data from a transaction for the free sample is submitted by a merchant to its acquirer for processing by a transaction handler who requests payment for the transaction from the advertising account, and the issuer of the advertising account forwards the payment for the free sample to the merchant's acquirer to reimburse the merchant.

A linked-account processing program receives an authorization request for the financial transaction which has been initiated at a merchant's computer using the presentation device. The program determines whether the presentation device is associated with multiple financial accounts, and if so, selects one account among the multiple linked financial accounts based on the predetermined set of rules, and routes the authorization request to an issuer of the selected financial account.

摘要： An issuer receives an authorization request from healthcare provider that includes an account, an identifier for a healthcare service and its cost to a patient, and an identifier for a single purpose card for the redemption of the cost of the healthcare service. The issuer validates use of the account to pay the cost, sends an authorization approval to the healthcare provider, and deactivates the identifier for the single purpose card for future use. A request for insufficient funds, when the account is determined to be deficient, is sent to a sponsor to whom the issuer issued account. The cost in the authorization request can include a total purchase amount and a qualified amount of the total purchase amount, and the issuer can validate that the account can be used the for payment of the qualified amount of the total purchase amount for the healthcare service.

摘要： An input device of a user interface is used to receive an identifier, quantity, and dosage of a free prescription medical supply sample, and an identifier for a patient. A transmission is sent including the identifier for the free sample. In response, a transmission is received that includes free sample information regarding a pharmaceutical company account for a dispensing pharmacist to charge the cost of the free sample, the identifier, quantity, and dosage of the free sample, and an image corresponding to the free sample. A prescription medical supply sample transaction payment card has written to its memory the free sample information, an identifier for the patient, and an identifier for the prescribing medical practitioner. An image corresponding to the free sample is rendered on the surface of the card.
