Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a method, performed by a requirements-using network entity having an array of antenna elements, comprises determining a plurality of antenna subarray configurations, each antenna subarray configuration comprising a different subset of the antenna elements in the array of antenna elements. The method further comprises receiving, from a requirements-providing network entity, a set of one or more accuracy requirements, each accuracy requirement comprising a positioning accuracy requirement or a measurement accuracy requirement for azimuth, elevation, or both. The method further comprises either: determining an antenna subarray configuration that produces a beam that satisfies the set of accuracy requirements and performing a positioning operation using that antenna subarray configuration, or determining that no antenna subarray configuration produces a beam that satisfies the set of accuracy requirements and notifying the requirements-providing network entity of that fact.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless node may transmit, to another wireless node, information related to one or more properties of a first antenna array associated with the wireless node. The wireless node may receive, from the other wireless node, information related to one or more properties of a second antenna array associated with the other wireless node. The wireless node may communicate with the other wireless node over a wireless link using one or more beams associated with an operating frequency, wherein the operating frequency is based at least in part on the one or more properties of the first antenna array and the one or more properties of the second antenna array. Abstract: Beam management triggers due to polarization imbalance with UE cases and covers are described. An apparatus is configured to perform a polarization imbalance measurement(s), for a UE external covering or case, of a signal transmission(s). The apparatus is configured to switch to a set of beam weights for communication between the UE and a network node for polarization imbalance mitigation. The apparatus is configured to communicate, with the network node, based on the set of beam weights. Another apparatus is configured to transmit, for a UE, a signal transmission(s) for a polarization imbalance measurement(s) for an external covering or case of the UE. The apparatus is configured to receive, from the UE, a beamforming indication indicative of a request to switch to a set of beam weights for polarization imbalance mitigation. The apparatus is configured to communicate, with the UE, based on the set of beam weights.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to report feedback to a base station to address polarization impairments in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications. The UE and the base station may establish a communications link using a pair of orthogonally polarized beams, where the pair of polarized beams may be selected based on a beam sweep procedure. The UE may transmit a report to the base station indicating one or more polarization parameters associated with beam pairs identified in the beam sweep procedure, such as one or more orthogonality parameters, one or more polarization parameters relating to one or more beam pairs, or one or more angular spread parameters. Based on the report, the base station may transmit a beam configuration to the UE for polarization MIMO communications.
