    Abstract: Provided a light modulating device including a variable mirror including a plurality of lattice structures, the plurality of lattice structures including a material having a refractive index that changes based on a temperature of the material, a distributed Bragg mirror spaced apart from the variable mirror and provided above the variable mirror, the distributed Bragg mirror including a first material layer and a second material layer that are alternately stacked, and a refractive index of the first material layer being different from a refractive index of the second material layer, and a heating portion configured to heat the plurality of lattice structures and provided below the variable mirror opposite to the distributed Bragg mirror.

    Abstract: Provided are a beam scanning device and a system including the beam scanning device. The beam scanning device includes: a spatial light modulator configured to modulate a phase of a light for a corresponding pixel of a plurality of pixels; and a phase mask including a support plate arranged in an output direction of the light that is output from the spatial light modulator and a plurality of nanostructures arranged on the support plate differently for each of the plurality of pixels to control the phase of the light.

    Abstract: A beam steering device is provided and includes: a first layer including a plurality of reflection regions; a second layer on the first layer and including a plurality of refractive-index-variable regions, each having a refractive index that is controlled by an applied voltage; an antenna layer on the second layer and including a plurality of nano-structures; and a driving circuit layer on a lower side of the first layer and comprising a plurality of circuit units, each respectively configured to control a voltage applied to one of the refractive-index-variable regions. The antenna layer is divided into a first region configured to control a travelling direction of incident light and a second region that is not configured to control the travelling direction of the incident light.
