A writer includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, a longitudinal axis defined between the leading and trailing edges, and a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. A writer region is provided at a protruded section of the trailing edge oriented along the longitudinal axis. A write pole is arranged at the protruded section to write data to two locations spaced apart from one another relative to the transverse axis for a range of skew angles.

An apparatus includes a slider of a recording head comprising a plurality of electrical bond pads coupled to bias sources and a ground pad. Each of a plurality of electrical components of the slider is coupled to at least one of the electrical bond pads. At least one of the electrical bond pads is a shared electrical bond pad coupled to at least two of the electrical components. At least one diode is coupled to at least one of the electrical bond pads and at least one of the electrical components.

An apparatus such as a magnetic recording head with at least two separately addressable read transducers that are coplanar in a cross track direction. The apparatus includes first coplanar electrical contacts respectively disposed on and in electrical contact with first surfaces of the at least two read transducers and an electrically insulating magnetic material disposed between the electrical contacts.
