Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel including: a display area including a sub-pixel; and a sensing area including an optical sensor to provide a sensing signal corresponding to an amount of received light to a readout line; a readout circuit to receive the sensing signal through the readout line; and a connection portion electrically connecting the readout line to the readout circuit. The display area includes the sensing area including the sub-pixel and the optical sensor, and a non-sensing area including the sub-pixel. A connection line connecting the readout line and the connection portion to each other is located in the non-sensing area.

The light emitting elements include light emitting layers, and the light receiving elements include light receiving layers. The conductive pattern includes main patterns respectively surrounding the light receiving layers in a closed form.

The sensing driver includes a first sensing transistor controlling the sensing current flowing through the sensing line according to a voltage of a first electrode of the optical element, and a second sensing transistor initializing the first electrode of the optical element to a first level voltage. A channel layer of the first sensing transistor and a channel layer of the second sensing transistor are made of different materials.
