Abstract: A display device includes a processor and a display panel for receiving observation grayscale values from the processor. The display panel includes a data driver for applying data voltages to data lines, a target pixel coupled to at least one of the data lines, and observation pixels each coupled to at least one of the data lines, and located adjacent to the target pixel. The display panel applies a first data voltage to the target pixel, when the observation grayscale values for the observation pixels exceed a reference value. The display panel applies a second data voltage to the target pixel, when at least one of the observation grayscale values does not exceed the reference value. The first data voltage and the second data voltage are different from each other.

Abstract: A display device includes a gray scale converter to receive input gray scale values, calculate an output load value that is smaller than an input load value when the input load value calculated from the input gray scale values is larger than a start current limit value, and convert the input gray scale values into converted gray scale values to correspond to the output load value, and a data driver to provide data voltages based on the converted gray scale values, wherein, when the input load value is between the start current limit value and a first current limit value, there is a first increase rate of the output load value for the input load value, and wherein, when the input load value is between the first current limit value and a maximum value of the input load value, there is a second increase rate of the output load value.

Abstract: A driving voltage setting device includes a first voltage determiner, a luminance measurer, and a second voltage determiner. The first voltage determiner is configured to: determine, based on a variable preliminary black gray scale voltage (BGSV) under a first display luminance condition, a first BGSV corresponding to a first display luminance of a display device; and determine, based on the variable preliminary BGSV under a second display luminance condition, a second BGSV corresponding to a second display luminance of the display device. The luminance measurer is configured to measure a luminance of a BGSV of the display device using the variable preliminary BGSV. The second voltage determiner is configured to determine, based on the first BGSV and the second BGSV, BGSVs respectively corresponding to a plurality of preset display luminances between the first display luminance and the second display luminance.

Abstract: A voltage value setting device including a test control unit which provides a temporary black grayscale voltage value and a temporary transistor off voltage value to a display device, and a luminance measurement unit which measures a luminance of a black grayscale that the display device displays based on the temporary black grayscale voltage value and the temporary transistor off voltage value. When the measured luminance of the black grayscale is lower than a black luminance threshold, the test control unit provides the display device with a black grayscale voltage value, set by adding a first margin value to the temporary black grayscale voltage value, and a transistor off voltage value, set by adding a second margin value to the temporary transistor off voltage value.
