摘要： A display apparatus includes a display area, in which pixels each including an EL device and a pixel circuit are arranged in a matrix on a substrate, and a column control circuit for controlling the pixel circuit column by column. The EL device is disposed between a lower pixel electrode and an upper transparent electrode on the substrate. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to the pixel circuit, and the transparent electrode is electrically connected to a common interconnecting line via a contact hole. The contact hole and the common interconnecting line are disposed to surround a periphery of the display area. The column control circuit is divided into two circuits one of which is disposed between the contact hole and the display area and the other of which is disposed outside the area between the contact hole and the display area.

摘要： An active matrix type display apparatus includes a plurality of pixel circuits each having an electroluminescent element EL, a 1st FET to control a current flowing in the EL, and a 2nd FET provided between a gate and a drain of the 1st FET. The plurality of pixel circuits are arranged in a matrix and have every column connected to a data line. The 2nd FET is turned on for a predetermined time period, and an image data current flowing in the data line is supplied to the gate and drain of the 1st FET, thereby writing a current value of the image data current. A preliminary charging circuit is connected to the data line. Before the writing operation in the predetermined time period is expired, a current of a predetermined current value is applied to the image data current so that a gate-source voltage of the 1st FET is equal to or larger than a threshold value.

摘要： An organic EL display apparatus has a driving circuit. In the driving circuit, the source and drain of a driving transistor and the anode and cathode of an organic EL device are connected in series between voltage sources. A current passes between the source and drain of the driving transistor and between the anode and cathode of the organic EL device in accordance with a voltage between the gate and source of the driving transistor. Consequently, the organic EL device emits light. In order to store the voltage in the capacitor, a constant voltage source is connected to the gate of the driving transistor and the above-described series connection is disconnected at the source of the driving transistor and connected to a signal source. Then, a current signal output from the signal source passes between the source and drain of the driving transistor, and charges are stored in a capacitor in accordance with the current signal.

摘要： A display apparatus capable of preventing thermal deterioration of an organic EL layer to improve a reliability without increasing a frame area thereof includes a display area, a circuit and wiring area, a pixel circuit common supply line, a contact hole, an external connection terminal, and an adhesion area. In the display area, EL devices and pixel circuits are arranged in a matrix. In the contact hole, a common voltage line and a transparent electrode electrically connected to an output of the EL device are electrically connected to each other. To the external connection terminal, an image signal, a control signal, and electric power are externally supplied. The contact hole and the common voltage line are disposed to surround a peripheral of the display area. To the pixel circuit common supply line, the electric power is supplied from the external connection terminal. In a peripheral portion of the display area where the external connection terminal is disposed, the pixel circuit common supply line is disposed outside the contact hole and the common voltage line with respect to the display area.

摘要： Even if characteristics of transistors differ every circuit, in order to suppress an influence by the different characteristics and stabilize the programming operation to a control electrode of a drive transistor even if a data signal is small, there is provided a programming apparatus for programming signals which are supplied to a circuit array (61, 62) having a plurality of circuits each having transistors (M11, M12), first switching elements (M21, M22) connected to control electrodes of the transistors, and second switching elements (M31, M32) each connected to one main electrode of each of the transistors. The programming apparatus has: a current generating circuit (M3, M4) which is connected in common to each of the second switching elements of the circuit array and generates a current corresponding to a current flowing in the transistor of the selected circuit; and an operational amplifier (OPAMP1) which is connected in common to each of the first switching elements of the circuit array and supplies the program signal to the control electrode of the transistor of the selected circuit. A data signal and a signal corresponding to the current generated by the current generating circuit are inputted to the operational amplifier.
