    摘要: A plasma display panel and method of producing same, in which projections are formed in grooves between partitions and phosphor layers are provided on the projections so as to increase the area where phosphor adheres and thereby to increase the luminance. A pair of substrates, opposed to each other, form a discharge space. Band-like partitions partitioning the discharge space are arranged on one of the back and front substrates. Wall-like projections, lower than the partitions but high enough to increase the area where phosphor layers are formed, are provided in the region where the discharge space is formed in the long grooves between the partitions or around the discharge space. Phosphor layers are formed in the grooves between the partitions including the wall-like projections.

    摘要: This invention provides a plasma tube array-type display device and a luminance correcting method realizing reduced variations in luminance values of a plasma tube array. A gradient of the luminance value in the longitudinal direction of one plasma tube is calculated on the basis of the obtained luminance value at a plurality of positions in the longitudinal direction of at least one plasma tube. A difference of the luminance value of each plasma tube obtained at the same relative position. On the basis of the gradient of the luminance value and the difference of the luminance value of each plasma tube at the same relative position, a correction luminance value in each discharge cell in the longitudinal direction of each of the plurality of plasma tubes is calculated.

    摘要: A display device includes two or more plasma tube array units to provide a large sized screen. Each plasma tube array unit includes pairs of scan and sustain electrodes. The plasma tube array units are disposed adjacent to each other in a longitudinal direction of the scan and sustain electrodes. One scan driver which selectively applies a scan signal to the scan electrodes is coupled to the two adjacent plasma tube array units at a position between the two adjacent plasma tube array units. Two sustain voltage drivers which apply respective sustain voltage to the sustain electrodes are coupled to the sustain electrodes of the two respective adjacent plasma tube array units on two respective outermost sides of the two respective adjacent plasma tube array units.

    摘要: A display device includes a plurality of gas discharge tubes sandwiched between a front support plate and a rear support plate. A plurality of signal electrodes are formed on the rear support plate to extend along the longitudinal direction of the gas discharge tubes. The signal electrodes are divided into a plurality of groups. The distance between adjacent ones of the signal electrodes in each group has a first distance. The distance between adjacent ones of the signal electrodes between adjacent groups has a second distance that is larger than the first distance. Thus, a space may be provided between the two adjacent gas discharge tubes of the respective adjacent groups.

    摘要: A plurality of arc tubes are arranged in parallel with the long side of a rectangular screen, a plurality of first electrodes and second electrodes are arranged on the display surface side of the arc tube array in the direction intersecting the longitudinal direction of the arc tubes, and a plurality of third electrodes are arranged on the back side of the arc tube array along the longitudinal direction of the arc tubes. At the time of screen display, the third electrodes are used as scan electrodes and a scan voltage is applied sequentially to the plurality of third electrodes. In the meantime, a voltage is applied to a desired first electrode or second electrode so that discharge takes place in a desired light-emitting cell and a light-emitting cell is selected.     摘要: A display apparatus includes a display panel including address electrodes and sustain electrodes crossing the address electrodes, with pixels being sandwiched between the address electrodes and the sustain electrodes. A sustain-electrode drive circuit selectively generates both sustain pulses and scan pulses and supplies them to the sustain electrodes. An address-electrode drive circuit generates address pulses based on a video signal and supplies the address pulses to the address electrodes. A control-signal generation circuit generates a control signal for controlling the sustain-electrode drive circuit to generate a selected one of the sustain pulses and the scan pulses and supplies the control signal to the sustain-electrode drive circuit. In order to display an image on the display panel, the sustain-electrode drive circuit both specifies addresses of pixels to be turned on and turns on the pixels at the specified addresses.
