摘要： A beverage vessel or carafe 20 includes a container 22, an upper body 24 which is secured to the container, a handle 28 which extends between the upper body 24 and the container 22, a spout 30 formed in the upper body and a lid 34 which located in an opening 32 of the upper body. A seal 52 or 52a is located between, and compressed by, the container 22 and the upper body 24 to preclude the beverage from undesirably entering a chamber 70 of the carafe 20. A rib 98 of the upper body 24 cooperates with a pocket 110 of the container 22 to secure the upper body with the container. A fastening element 142 is attached within a pocket 140 formed on an outer surface of the container 22 and includes a sleeve 148 which fits snugly within a hole 156 of an end 38 of the handle 28 and is secured in this firm assembly by a threaded fastener 164. A compliant handle cover 180 is assembled with the handle 28 to provide a firm but tactile comfort for one who uses the carafe 20.

摘要： An electrical appliance housing is disclosed having a housing with an open side portion and an open front portion adjacent and perpendicular to the open side portion. A removable end panel is provided to fit within the open side portion of the housing and may include an elastically deformable detent mechanism on the side edges of the end panel to temporarily lock it to the housing. An interchangeable modular component is provided within the housing for establishing the function of the electrical appliance housing. The electrical appliance housing function may include air conditioning, air moving, light emitting, infrared light emitting or any other function desirable in a ceiling or wall appliance. The modular components are interchangeable, such that the function of the electrical box may be changed at any time by interchanging the modular components within the housing to the desired set-up. The end panel is also interchangeable, such that end panels with the desired componentry and electrical capabilities may be interchanged with each other to adapt the electrical appliance housing to the desired function. Additionally, the modular components may include a snap-fit mechanism to removably secure the modular components within the housing.

摘要： A can opener (30) includes a housing (32) which supports a drive wheel (64) for rotating a can (82) loaded on the opener. While the can (82) is being rotated by the drive wheel (64), a cutter (74) is severing a lid (80) of the can therefrom. An actuator (86) is pivotally mounted at the rear of the housing (32) and extends across the top, and over the front, of the can opener (30) to provide the external control for operating the can opener. A switching mechanism (136) and a disc (184) are located within the housing (32) and are responsive to movement of the actuator (86) by a user to operate the can opener (30). A magnet assembly (98) is removably located on the underside of the actuator (86) for attaching magnetically to the lid (80) of the can (82) during a lid-cutting operation to facilitate removal of the lid from the can after completion of the lid-cutting operation. A blade sharpener (42) is located at the rear of the housing (32).

摘要： A portable vaporizer including a base, a steam stack which includes a baffle and a cup for retaining a liquid, a vented collar, a steam cap and a boiling chamber. The boiling chamber includes a heating element adapted to vaporize a liquid received therein. The vapor exiting the boiling chamber rises through a plurality of openings in the vented collar and mixes with ambient air drawn in through a second set of openings, resulting in a temperature drop in the vapor. The mixture hits the baffle, thus breaking the fluid stream into smaller streams, resulting in a further reduction in the vapor temperature. Consequently, the vapor leaving the vaporizer is at a lower temperature than that discharged from the boiling chamber.
