Abstract:
A utility knife includes a housing having a compartment for receiving one or more spare knife blades, a blade carrier slidably received in the housing for supporting and moving a knife blade into and out of the housing, and a pushing device for selectively pushing and feeding one of the spare knife blades into the blade carrier without opening or detaching the housing. A pusher is slidably received in the housing and has an edge for engaging with and for moving the spare knife blade to the blade carrier, and a spring element may move the pusher relative to the housing and to offset the pusher from the spare knife blade. A hand grip may be used to move the pusher relative to the housing.
Abstract:
A hacksaw includes a frame having a chamber formed in a rear handle, an arm pivotally secured to the handle for tensioning a saw blade and having a rear oblong hole, a lever pivotally secured to the handle, and a tension rod pivotally secured to the lever and having a lower portion extended through the oblong hole of the arm. A latch has a block slidably received in the handle and has an orifice for slidably receiving the tension rod. A spring may bias the latch to engage with the lever, and may bias the arm away from the handle.
Abstract:
A knife includes two housings having a front portion for engaging with blades. One of the housings includes a projection formed in the front portion for engaging with a depression of the other housing so as to secure the front portions of the housings together. A rod is rotatably engaged in the rear portion of one of the housings. A cap is secured to one end of the rod, and a spring biases the cap to engage with the rear ends of the housings so as to secure the rear ends of the housings together. The housings can be secured together without additional tools.
Abstract:
A box cutter includes a housing with a blade slide slidably received therein. A pivotal member is pivotably connected to of the blade slide. An inclined face is defined in one of surfaces of the pivotal member and is gradually raised. The inclined face is connected to a pressing area which has two respective rounded guide portions. A spring is connected between the pivotal member and the housing to maintain the blade slide at the initial position. A button is slidably connected to outside of the cover and a spring is connected between the button and the cover. The button is moved to move the blade slide from the initial position thereof to an extended position. When the blade is cutting a workpiece, the blade is tilt and the pivotal member is pivoted by the cover so that blade slide is retracted into the housing.
Abstract:
A utility knife includes a fixed blade in a first handle at one end and a self-retracting blade in a second handle at the other end. The utility knife further includes a locking member slidably positioned on a bifurcation of the second handle adjacent the first handle. In a locked position of the locking member either blade can be used. The locking member is adapted to slide toward the first handle to disengage the housing of the second handle from the first handle prior to replacing the self-retracting blade. A user may have two blade options when using the utility knife, thereby increasing working efficiency.
