摘要： A paper transporting mechanism is disclosed in connection with a printer having a printing head mounted on a carriage reciprocatingly moved transversely of a printing paper to be printed by the printing head and a platen arranged opposite to the printing head with a clearance being provided therebetween for passing the printing paper therethrough, wherein a first pair of rollers is frictionally rotated to transport the printing paper in the direction toward the printing head and platen, a second pair of rollers is frictionally rotated to transport the printing paper in the direction away from the printing head and platen, a guide is provided between the first and second pairs of rollers, the guide including a first guide plate for guiding the printing paper in the direction toward the printing head and platen and a second guide plate for guiding the printing paper in the direction away from the printing head and platen, the first and second guide plates being integrated to each other to provide opposite insertions, and a support includes a predetermined number of bearings mounted on a pair of side frames of the printer to support the first and second pairs of rollers between side frames, each of the bearings are so structured as to receive the insertions of the guide to support the latter between the frames while the bearings are prevented from rotation with respect to the side frames by the insertions.

摘要： In a pattern cam selecting device of a sewing machine having a plurality of stacked pattern cams, a swingable element is provided, which can be moved in one direction to disengage a cam follower from one of the stacked pattern cams. The cam selecting device further includes a locking element, a clutch mechanism, and actuating mechanism, and a cam rotated upon the rotation of a main shaft of the sewing machine. The swingable element is locked in the follower-disengaging position by the locking element while clutch mechanism is held in an inoperative position by a holding element. The locking element which normally engages the actuating mechanism includes a follower element which is held in a position out of a rotation path of the cam. The locking element releases the actuating mechanism to allow the follower element to come into the rotation path of the cam when the locking element is operated to lock the swingable element while the clutch means is operated in association with the movement of the actuating mechanism to move to an operative position. The clutch mechanism is operated to cause the locking element to unlock the swingable element as the cam starts to rotate and moves the follower element toward the position out of the rotation path of the cam.

摘要： In a double-function sewing machine including a lock stitching mechanism and an overlock stitching mechanism a common driving source and a common flywheel for both stitching mechanisms are used. A switching device for switching the sewing machine from operation with the overlock stitching mechanism to the operation with lock stitching mechanism and vice versa is provided in the sewing machine. This device includes a belt wheel bush rotatable with respect to the machine frame and driven by the driving source and secured to the shaft of the flywheel, a belt wheel for overlock stitching rotatably supported with respect to the machine frame and connected to the overlock stitch forming mechanism, a ratchet guide member mounted on the main shaft of the lock stitch-forming mechanism and pivoted with respect to the machine frame, two sliding plates one of which is the mounted on ratchet guide member and another one of which is mounted on the belt wheel, and a switching lever. The switching lever is operated to alternatively hold one of the sliding plates on the belt wheel bush for selecting for operation the lock stitch-forming mechanism or the overlock stitch-forming mechanism.

摘要： A selecting device for a double-function sewing machine having a single drive motor with the sewing machine including a first stitch forming mechanism to produce one type of stitch, a second stitch forming mechanism to produce another type of stitch, and a transmission for transmitting the rotation of the drive motor to the first and second stitch forming mechanism. The selecting device includes a first clutch operated into an operative position to contact the first stitch forming mechanism to a transmission and operated into an inoperative position to disconnect that mechanism from the transmission, and a second clutch operated into an operative position to connect the second stitch forming mechanism to the transmission and operated into an inoperative position to disconnect that mechanism from the transmission. A manually operated dial is mounted on the housing of the sewing machine, which is connected to a lever mechanism operated in one direction to hold the first mentioned clutch in the inoperative position and release the second clutch into the operative position. The lever mechanism is manually operated in another direction to hold the second clutch in the inoperative position and release the first clutch into the operative position.

摘要： A rotation switching device for a sewing machine having a lock stitching mechanism and an overlock stitching mechanism. The device includes a rotatable operating member and a base disc connected to the operating member and movable in a vertical direction upon rotation of the operating member between a rest position in which the base disc is above the machine mounting surface and an operating position in which the base disc projects downward farther than the feet on the lower face of the machine body. In this position the base disc contacts the machine mounting surface to lift the body of the sewing machine from the mounting surface, whereby the body of the sewing machine may be rotated in a horizontal plane to place either the lock stitching mechanism or the overlock stitching mechanism to a use position.
