Abstract: The present invention provides compounds and methods of using of the compounds as anti-infective agents. Abstract: Lipid particles, methods of generating same, and methods of using same. The lipid particles can be made from milk fat. The methods of generating the lipid particles can include melt fractionating milk fat, combining the melt-fractionated milk fat with a surfactant, obtaining the lipid particles by emulsifying the combined melt-fractionated milk fat and surfactant, and optionally, autoclaving the lipid particles. The methods of using the lipid particles can include parenterally administering the lipid particles to a subject in, for example, parenteral nutrition.

Abstract: A composite material includes biodegradable and/or renewable materials such as purified milk protein recovered as a byproduct in cheese making processes. The result is a material suitable for three-dimensional (3D) printing and extrusion based polymer processing, with improved properties but that is still environmentally friendly. Purified milk protein may be used to produce composite thermoplastic materials or resins. Additional chemical modification may improve the blending of purified milk protein.

Abstract: A solar water heater absorber absorbs the sun's energy on the surface of a twin-walled polycarbonate panel and conducts the heat from the sun through the panel wall into fluid flow through channels of the panel. The panel is an extruded polycarbonate glazing material that consists of two panes connected by longitudinal ribs to form a plurality of water channels that may further include twisted strips providing a helical water flow pattern that increases turbulence within the water channels. The panel is connected to large pipes or headers on the top and bottom ends of the panel that receive the heated fluid from the water channels, allow the heated fluid to exit the panel, and for return water to re-enter the panel in a solar water heating system.
