Abstract: A settling tank for dewatering a thin slurry is provided in a lined portable container and with a disposable filtering means. A novel method of processing the slurry by settlement of the solid phase and removal of the liquid phase in cycles avoids the clogging of the filtering means. The settling tank can be easily transported and dumped without requiring the transferring of residue sludge or the cleaning of equipment.

Abstract: A mobile liquid treatment apparatus, such as a filter assembly, includes a frame having a first end, a second end, and a platform extending between the first end and the second end. A filter is secured to the frame and is configured to separate a solid component from a liquid component of a solid liquid mixture. The mobile filter assembly includes at least a first deployment leg assembly secured to the first end of the frame and at least a second deployment leg assembly secured to the second end of the frame. Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for cleaning the sand beds of slow sand filters, infiltration basins and pools of other types having sand beds in water treatment works and similar plants, while the filter is in service, by removing a few centimeters of the bed surface, cleaning the sand of the sludge or filter film formed on the bed surface, returning the cleaned sand to the bed, and discharging the separated sludge, suspended in water to drain or to a suitable disposal site. Abstract: A portable pressure screen apparatus is disclosed having a cylindrical shaped pressure housing defining upper and lower hingedly connected halves. The housing includes a slurry inlet aperture raised relative to a filtered slurry discharge port situated at the opposite end of the pressure housing from the slurry inlet aperture. A screen spans the interior of the housing, separating the interior into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. Collected particulate matter from the slurry inlet aperture is accumulated in the upper chamber and slurry filtered through the screen leaves the interior of the housing through the filtered slurry discharge port connected to the lower chamber. A support frame is employed to adjustably support the housing in a generally angled attitude relative to the horizontal. Angling the housing at an acute angle with respect to the horizontal causes the unfiltered slurry to be exposed to the entire length of the screen causing particulate matter larger than the opening in the screen to be accumulated in the upper chamber above the screen and drawn down the screen toward a particulate matter discharge port by gravity. The particulate matter discharge port is selectively openable or closable during operation of the device in response to the sensed pressure differential between the upper and lower chambers caused by accumulated particulate matter too large to pass through the screen.

Abstract: A portable liquid-solid separator for handling sludge in bulk with an upright vessel having a bed with a drain and surrounding sides. A grate overlays the interior of the vessel, bed and sides. A filter overlays the grate, extending up the sides and overlapping the side grate. The separator is filled with a sludge which is then separated by gravity filtration and the wicking action of the filter. Liquid is drained out the bottom of the vessel and the solids are transported within the vessel. In a preferred embodiment, the vessel is a bath tub style trailer with dumping capabilities.
