摘要： An apparatus for changing casting nozzles such as immersion nozzles easily, quickly, and reliably. The apparatus has a holder frame fixed to the bottom of a molten metal pouring device and defining a substantially C-shaped casting nozzle travel passageway composed of a new-nozzle insertion passage, an old-nozzle ejection passage extending parallel thereto in spaced-apart relationship, and a joint passage connecting the new-nozzle insertion passage and the old-nozzle ejection passage to each other, and having a casting position where the casting nozzle is held under compression; a spring box mounted in the holder frame and having outer side portions resiliently supported by springs on opposite sides of the holder frame across the casting nozzle travel passageway, the spring box having on inner sides thereof guide rails forming part of side portions of the casting nozzle travel passageway, a nozzle moving mechanism mounted on the holder frame for moving the casting nozzle along the guide rails; and a lifting mechanism for lifting the casting nozzle in unison with the spring box in response to movement of the casting nozzle along the guide rails until the casting nozzle is fittingly held against the bottom of the molten metal pouring device.

摘要： Apparatus for use in positioning a pouring tube on a bottom pour nozzle of a hot metal casting vessel including a pouring tube support carriage having universal or two dimensional movement in a horizontal plane and pouring tube transfer car mounted on the carriage to extend the pouring tube from an inboard position adjacent the carriage to an outboard position in alignment with the bottom pour nozzle. The apparatus is designed to raise and lower the pouring tube with respect to the bottom pour nozzle when in alignment therewith. The apparatus is also provided to move the pouring tube from an inboard vertical position to a horizontal travel position and finally to a vertical outboard position with the bottom portion of the pouring tube projecting into the molten metal bath of a tundish positioned beneath the casting vessel and the top of the pouring tube engaging the casting vessel bottom pour nozzle. The pouring tube transfer car is designed to be rapidly withdrawn in an emergency.

摘要： A casting tube or nozzle is placed beneath the casting outlet of an upper vessel such as a casting ladle and immersed in the molten metal which is teemed into a lower vessel such as a casting tundish or directly into ingot-molds. A mechanism is provided for displacing the casting tube in pivotal motion between a vertical position in which it is applied against the casting outlet and a horizontal position of withdrawal in which it can also be displaced in a horizontal plane by means of a translational displacement mechanism.

摘要： A method of handling and replacing pouring tubes used for pouring molten metal from a supply vessel into a mold of a continuous casting machine wherein a pouring tube is positioned beneath and in alignment with an outlet of the supply vessel and beneath the surface of a pool of metal in the mold for the purpose of conducting molten metal from the supply vessel into the mold. A replacement pouring tube is positioned at a location removed from the outlet of the vessel and in a position preparatory for exchange of the aforementioned pouring tube located in casting position beneath the outlet of the vessel. Upon the need to replace the pouring tube located in casting position beneath the outlet of the vessel the pouring tubes are displaced along a path such that as the pouring tubes are moved the pouring tube which is beneath the outlet of the vessel is moved out of alignment with said outlet and the replacement pouring tube is moved into alignment with such outlet.
