Abstract:
A device for embossing a set of motifs having a predetermined motif interval onto a length of film utilizes a rotating embossing cylinder which is provided with a recess for the attachment of an embossing matrix. The embossing matrix has a usable length which is less than the entire circumference of the embossing cylinder but more than 50% of the circumference of the embossing cylinder. A rotating counterpressure cylinder is positioned adjacent the embossing cylinder, such that the film advances between the counterpressure cylinder and the embossing cylinder for embossing said motifs from said embossing matrix onto the film and for defining a free phase during each rotation of the embossing cylinder when the recess is positioned adjacent the film. The device also comprises movement means for providing an additional relative movement between the length of film and the embossing matrix during each free phase of the embossing cylinder. A control mechanism determines the amplitude of the additional relative movement in accordance with the motif interval. It is a significant advantage of the present invention that the embossing cylinder circumference is independent of the motif interval thus allowing for easy change of the embossing matrix.
Abstract:
IMPROVED SOFTNESS, SURFACE SMOOTHNESS AND LIMPNESS IN TISSUE PAPER IS ATTAINED WITH A MINIMUM OF TISSUE PAPER SHEET STRENGTH LOSS. THE TRAVELING TISSUE PAPER, THAT IS CREPED WADDING, IS SUBJECTED TO A NIP BETWEEN A BRUSH ROLL AND A PATTERNED BACKING ROLL AT CONTROLLED RELATIVE SPEEDS OF THE SHEET, PATTERNED BACKING ROLL AND BRUSH. THE SHEET SPEED IS LESS THAN THE PERIPHERAL SPEED OF THE BRUSH ROLL BUT GREATER THAN THAT OF THE BACKING ROLL SO THAT THE SHEET IS WORKED BY THE BRUSH AND PATTERNED BACKING ROLL AS IT SLIPS RELATIVE TO THE PATTERNED BACKING ROLL.
Abstract:
Rolls of an embosser laminator unit may be calibrated with an iterative process of moving axial ends of the roll a set incremental distance until contact between the rolls is made and then making a correction to the distance based upon the end of the roll making contact. The rolls may be move an initial position where the faces of the rolls are devoid of contact with each other. One or both of the rolls may be rotated. The distance between the ends of the rolls may be decreased until the faces of the rolls make contact with each other. The distance between the first ends of the rolls may be increased by an incremental amount, and a determination of contact between the faces of the rolls may be made by alternate movement of the rolls by the incremental amount and position prior to contact.
Abstract:
An embossing device and a method for embossing, employing an electromagnetic induction device such as to induce an eddy current prevalently on the outer surface of an embossing roller. The eddy currents are such as to prevalently heat the outer surface of the embossing roller.
Abstract:
A sheet binding device includes a pressurizing unit that pressurizes a sheet bundle to bind the sheet bundle, a pressurizing section that is disposed in the pressurizing unit and configured to be moved from a waiting position separated from the sheet bundle to a pressurizing position at which the pressurizing section pressurizes the sheet bundle, a drive motor that actuates the pressurizing unit, and a controller that controls the drive motor such that the pressurizing section is engaged with the sheet bundle at a predetermined setting velocity.
Abstract:
A device (1) for embossing a predetermined pattern onto at least one flat material (4) introduced between at least two printing rollers of said device, the movements of the embossing rollers being synchronized and said rollers (2, 3) also comprise at least two embossing tracks (5, 6), wherein the movements of the embossing rollers (2, 3) are synchronized with each other by synchronization means (7, 8) associated with different embossing tracks (5, 6), which mesh with each other and are distributed over the lateral surfaces of the embossing rollers (2, 3) or are electronically and/or electromechanically synchronized together, the different embossing tracks (5, 6) of the associated synchronization means (7, 8) of the same embossing roller (2, 3) being offset in relation to each other.
Abstract:
In the method for the authentication of identification marks applied on a packaging foil, the identification marks, present as a barcode, are embossed on-line by an embossing roller device on a packaging foil, are read by means of a suitable apparatus and are compared to a template for the creating of the barcode, wherein the structural elements of the bar code, created by means of the template, are transferred to a set of embossing rollers with male and female rollers associated with one another and are formed on the surface thereof. Preferably, a further code is overlaid on the barcode in a further coding step, and the result is transferred and formed as a template onto the surface of the set of embossing rollers, wherein the template is used for deciphering the read-in, embossed code. The embossing device for the embossing of barcode onto a packaging foil (12) according to the method has a set of embossing rollers with male rollers (P5) and female rollers (M5) associated with one another, wherein the structural elements (STP, STM) of the barcode (7BCP, 7BCM) created by means of the template are arranged on the surface thereof.Such a method and such a device permit the embossing of particularly secure, comprehensive and compact identification marks on cardstock-type cigarette packages (12) or on inner liners (13A, 13B).
Abstract:
A method for embossing products with a rotary embossing device includes controlling the rotation of at least one embossing roller as a function of marks that are present on the products and are detected by sensors. A folder gluer having a rotary embossing device is also provided.
Abstract:
A plant for the production of embossed articles is disclosed. Upstream of the embossing group for the plant and add on a glue dispensing unit and/or a printing unit having a cliché roll for the application of the glue on a web of band or ink on the band is provided. The web or the band moves between the cliché roll and a contrast cylinder. Actuator means are provided for approaching or moving away a portion of the cliché roll from the contrast cylinder. Thus, regardless of the type of paper used, it is possible to obtain a perfect adhesion of the webs without jeopardizing the softness of the paper used. It is also possible to obtain the printing in selected areas of the product being processed.
