摘要:
A method and device for limiting upward movement of a flapper valve in a toilet having an overflow pipe, wherein upon flushing the toilet the flapper valve is raised to a maximum height. The device comprises a spherical body having a bore therethrough with a diameter slightly less than the diameter of the overflow pipe. The method comprises inserting the spherical body onto the overflow pipe and positioning it at a height on the overflow pipe such that upon flushing the toilet, the flapper valve is raised and contacts the spherical body, which prevents the flapper valve from being raised to its maximum height. The device limits the amount of water used with each flush and prevents the flapper valve from becoming stuck in an upright position.

A system for controlling and saving water to be used with a toilet flushing apparatus permitting adjustable partial flush and full flush capabilities. A control housing having a pin inserted therethrough has a pointed tip portion entering an aperture formed in a bottom end of the control housing providing an adjustable needle valve. The effective size of the needle valve determines the rate at which water expels from the housing. A flexible tube attached to the control housing leads to a cavity in a flapper valve. The flapper valve covers a drainage port in a holding tank of a toilet when the toilet is unflushed. When the toilet is flushed, air is drawn from the cavity of the flapper into an inner chamber of the control housing as water leaves the control housing, thereby causing the flapper to change from a positive to a negative buoyancy state. The flapper can therefore be reseated upon the port before all the water has left the holding tank. A clamping mechanism on the lever of the flushing apparatus allows the partial flush mode to be quickly disengaged permitting full flush capabilities.

A dual capacity toilet flusher for controlling the release of water from a storage tank (25) into a bowl (23) and the refilling of the storage tank and the bowl after a flush. For liquid waste, the user gently presses the flush lever (24), thus rotates an arm (11) to raise a guide (13) and the flap valve (19) and locks a detent (64) in the guide against a locking arm (56). The open flap valve lowers the water level (36) and a float (15) connected to a cam assembly (67). After about 3.8 liters of water has drained out, a cam (39A) on the cam assembly rotates a spring loaded rocker assembly (68) to release the locking arm to allow the guide and flap valve to fall to stop water outflow. A feed tube then refills the tank while a bleed tube refills the bowl through the overflow pipe (16). Valves on the feed and bleed tubes allow manual flow rate adjustments. For solid wastes, the user quickly presses the flush lever. It thereupon quickly raises and locks the guide higher in a second detent (73) against a roller (69) on the rocker assembly. After about 19 liters of water has drained out, the float causes a cam (39B) to rotate the rocker assembly to release the guide and allow the flap valve to fall to stop water outflow. The feed tube refills the tank while the bleed tube refills the bowl. A tube positioner (14) controlled by the float moves the bleed tube away from the overflow pipe as soon as the bowl is fully refilled to prevent overfill.

A flush regulator selectively operable in partial flush mode or a full flush mode for use with a water closet including a water storage stank having a flush drain aperture formed in the lower portion thereof and a buoyant flapper valve disposed to selectively seal the flush drain aperture movable between an open and closed position by a flush handle movable between a first and second position to selectively control the flow of water through the flush drain aperture, the flush regulator comprising a buoyant flush assembly movably disposed within the water closet including a float chamber to control the buoyancy of the buoyant flush assembly and a dispensing chamber configured to operatively house a bleach/detergent therein such that when the flush handle is moved from the first position to the second position and released the float chamber engages the buoyant flapper valve in the open position to force the buoyant flapper valve to prematurely return to the closed position to operate in the partial flush mode and when the flush handle is moved from the first position to the second position and held in the second position the buoyant flapper valve is held in the open position to operate in the full flush mode and wherein when the flush handle is moved from the first position to the second position and released a portion of the bleach/detergent disposed within the dispensing chamber is dispersed into the water storage tank. Several embodiments are disclosed.

Dual control flushing mechanism enables a user to select complete or partial flush of a toilet tank. The complete flush is obtained by lifting a mobile assembly containing a float, while maintaining the float intact. The partial flush is obtained by lifting the mobile assembly and simultaneously opening the float so that it fills with water and thereafter sinks, causing a blocking valve to engage and terminate the flushing process before a full flush has been effected.

An improved dual mode flush mechanism which provides the selection of either a full flush or a partial flush mode, by manipulating one flush control handle. A full flush is obtained by pushing the handle downward, in the conventional manner, which rotates an actuating lever upward to engage and lift a flush valve lift arm to fully open the flush valve. A partial flush is obtained by lifting the flush handle upward, which rotates the actuating lever downward engaging and rotating one end of a double cam downward, causing the opposite end to pivot upward, which engages and lifts the flush valve lift arm, to a limiting stop position, to partially open the flush valve. Releasing the flush handle causes the flush valve to immediately close, allowing a minimum amount of flushing water for light liquid waste. The flush handle can be held upward against the stop position for a longer time, to allow more flushing water as may be required for darker liquid waste, while still using less water than a full flush. Therefore, the user is not limited to only a preset amount of water for the liquid waste flushing, instead a very minimum amount of water, as allowed by adjustment of the limiting stop, can be used, or more water can easily be selected as the user determines to be necessary.

Stoppable flushing mechanism having an assured minimum flow of water is provided with an evacuation orifice having a sealing edge adapted to be positioned in a base of a flushing tank, and a substantially axially movable valve capable of being applied to the sealing edge. A substantially axially movable floater is affixed to the valve and adapted to maintain the valve at a distance from the sealing edge during evacuation of water. A transmission and lifting system is provided for moving the valve, and a push-button control device activates the transmission and lifting system. The transmission and lifting system includes a buoyancy chamber having a first base, with the buoyancy chamber being arranged in an upper portion of a housing in which the floater is housed and being associated with a rapid evacuation mechanism comprising at least one element activatable by the push-button control device, and at least one orifice in the first base or in a vicinity of the first base of the buoyancy chamber. The rapid evacuation mechanism is placed in an operative position when the push-button control device is pressed and in an inoperative position when the push-button control device is no longer pressed.

Flushing mechanism for providing both complete release of water from a tank, as well as partial removal of the water. The flushing mechanism is provided with an external tubular envelope, an evacuation orifice, an axially displaceable member, a lifting member, and an axially displaceable blocking element. The displaceable member includes an evacuation tube, and a valve for blocking the evacuation orifice the evacuation tube. The lower portion of the evacuation tube comprises a float, and the float includes a seat. The lifting member includes a push button, a transmission rod capable of being pushed by the push button, a pusher element, a lifting element for lifting the displaceable member, and a joint attaching the element to a lower portion of the transmission rod. The blocking element is associated with the float, and is constructed and arranged to be applied against the seat when the element for lifting the displaceable member is displaced by pushing the push button or under pressure of water, and to be spaced from the seat by action of the pusher element so as to enable entry of water into the float so that the float is displaced and the valve seals the evacuation orifice.

A toilet flush mechanism including a cam attached to a flush handle and a pivoting arm for controlling a tank release valve. The cam includes a lower portion engaging the lower surface of the arm, and an upper stop for engaging the upper surface of the arm to limit cam rotation and arm elevation. The arm rests on the cam lower portion such that rotation of the handle and cam in a first direction raises the arm by a first amount to contact a first portion of the stop to provide a full flush, and rotation of the handle and cam in a second direction raises the arm by a second amount less than the first amount to contact a second portion of the stop, thereby to provide a limited, water-conserving flush.
