    摘要: A connector includes a structure for receiving the tubing and a mechanism for releasably retaining the tubing over the tubing receiving structure. The structure for receiving the tubing includes an exterior surface with portions of the exterior surface of the structure defining a tapered section and at least one ring. The mechanism for releasably retaining the tubing over the tubing receiving structure is releasably engagable with the tubing receiving structure. Portions of the mechanism define a longitudinal bore through which the tubing can be inserted. The mechanism includes an interior surface with portions of the interior surface defining a tapered section. When the tubing is positioned over the tapered section and the at least one ring of the tubing receiving structure and the tubing receiving structure is engaged with the retaining mechanism, at least two fluid seals are created or present. A first fluid seal is present between the tapered section of the tubing receiving structure, the tubing, and the tapered section of the retaining mechanism. A second fluid seal is present between the tubing and the at least one ring of the tubing receiving structure.

    摘要: A pull-out resistant connector assembly for connecting a fluid supply tube to a fluid handling device is provided. The assembly includes a connecting nut connected to an annular fitting, the nut and fitting securing the tube therebetween. The connecting nut has, within it and extending therearound, a projection having an internal circumferential sharp-edged ridge. The nut is connectable to and over the annular fitting. At its proximal end the fitting has an outside diameter such that the tube is slidable thereover, and the fitting tapers along its length from the outside diameter at its proximal end thereof to a larger outside diameter at its distal end. The fitting has an external projection having an external, circumferential sharp-edged ridge formed therearound. The nut is adapted to receive a length of the fluid supply tube into and through its proximal end and, upon connection of the assembly, the nut and fitting compress the tube therebetween and secure the supply tube thereat by the gripping forces exerted therearound by the sharp-edged ridges. The fitting is adapted at its distal end to connect the internal bore thereof to an inlet port of the fluid handling device.

    摘要: A hose fitting for permanent attachment to a flexible hose such as a garden hose. The fitting includes a tubular member having helical barbs or threads on an outer surface portion thereof for allowing the tubular member to be firmly held within an open end of the hose and to further form helical deformations in the hose. The fitting further includes a ferrule having similar helical barbs or threads on an inner surface thereof for allowing the ferrule to be threaded over the hose end having the helical deformations formed by the tubular member inserted therein. The tubular member and the ferrule include mating ratchet teeth which lock together when the ferrule is threaded over the deformations in the hose end such that the fitting is permanently attached to the hose. The tubular member includes a coupling portion on its outer end for allowing the hose fitting to be attached to another fitting or a fluid device such as a faucet or lawn sprinkler. The tubular member and ferrule are both preferably formed from polymeric material.

    摘要: A coupling mechanism for use with flexible hose or tubing in which axial compression forces are applied to the end of the hose or tubing in order to provide the coupling action. The coupling mechanism includes a nipple having a head at the free end thereof surrounded by a collar having an inwardly extending abutment member at the opposite end thereof from the free end of the nipple. The end of the flexible hose or tube is received over the nipple and within the collar with a close fit. Upon axial movement of the collar with respect to the nipple toward the free end thereof, the abutment member on the collar will apply axial compression force to the end of the hose or tubing causing the wall at the end of the hose or tubing to expand into sealing and gripping relation with the nipple and collar. Means for forcing the collar to move axially of the nipple upon rotation of the collar and to selectively maintain the collar at a given point in the axial movement thereof are provided.
