摘要: A method for controlling discharge of an electric stun device and an electric stun device. Status information is obtained from at least a second electric stun device via a wireless interface and a decision is taken, considering the status information, indicating if it is proper to discharge the electric stun device. An electric stun device comprising a wireless network interface capable of receiving authoritative information from at least another wireless device and a discharge control module that receives the authoritative information from the wireless network interface assesses whether the authoritative information indicates that the electric stun device is permitted to discharge.

摘要: An electronic disabling device includes first and second electrodes positionable to establish first and second spaced apart contact points on a target having a high impedance air gap existing between at least one of the electrodes and the target. The power supply generates a first high voltage, short duration output across the first and second electrodes during a first time interval to ionize air within the air gap to thereby reduce the high impedance across the air gap to a lower impedance to enable current flow across the air gap at a lower voltage level. The power supply next generates a second lower voltage, longer duration output across the first and second electrodes during a second time interval to maintain the current flow across the first and second electrodes and between the first and second contact points on the target to enable the current flow through the target to cause involuntary muscle contractions to thereby immobilize the target.

摘要: A single-path electrical device generates a conductive channel through the air to alternatively convey charge to a target and remove charge from the target. The single-path electrical device uses either a grounding sphere or grounding torroid to store and at least partially dissipate opposite charge. In this way, neither the target nor the single-path electrical device is required to be grounded. The single-path electrical device may operate at a low frequency to help overcome any surface effects of the target.

摘要: Systems and methods for immobilizing a target such as a human or animal with a stimulus signal coupled to the target via electrodes provide the stimulus signal in accordance with a strike stage, a hold stage, and a rest stage. Systems include a launch device and separate projectile, where the projectile includes a battery, a waveform generator, and electrodes. The strike stage and hold stage may include pulses at a pulse repetition rate, for example, from 10 to 20 pulses per second, each pulse delivering a predetermined amount of charge, for example, about 100 microcoulombs at less than about 500 volts peak. The hold stage may continue immobilization at a lesser expenditure of energy compared to the strike stage. Because the strike stage and hold stage may immobilize by interfering with skeletal muscle control by the target's nervous system, a rest stage may allow the target to take a breath.

摘要: A non-lethal weapon for temporarily immobilizing a target subject by means of muscular tetanization in which the tetanization is produced by conducting a precisely-modulated electrical current through the target. Because the electrical current is a close replication of the physiological neuroelectric impulses which control striated muscle tissue, it tetanizes the subject's skeletal muscles without causing any perceptible sensation. The transmission of this current to the distant target is via two channels of electrically conductive air. The conductive channels are created by multi-photon and collisional ionization within the paths of two beams of coherent (laser) or columnated incoherent ultraviolet radiation directed to the target. A single beam may be used to tetanize a grounded target. The high-voltage tetanizing current flows from electrodes at the origin of the beams along the channels of free electrons within them.

摘要: Apparatus and methods in which a laser beam or other light source of comparable steradiancy is employed to establish a lowlevel ionization trail through a gas medium, and then auxiliary means external to the optical source is employed to increase the ionization within that initial trail to a high level, whereby to form a more highly conductive path over which useful amounts of electrical energy can be conducted for the transmission of intelligence or power.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to mobile correctional facility robots and systems and methods for coordinating mobile correctional facility robots to perform various tasks in a correctional facility. The mobile correctional facility robots can be used to perform many of the tasks traditionally assigned to correctional facility guards to help reduce the number of guards needed in any given correctional facility. When cooperation is employed among multiple mobile correctional facility robots to execute tasks, a central controller can be used to coordinate the efforts of the multiple robots to improve the performance of the overall system of robots as compared to the performance of the robots when working in uncoordinated effort to execute the tasks.

摘要: An accountability control system may be configured to provide one or more accountability controls to a payload platform. A payload platform may comprise a device configured to deploy a payload. The accountability controls may comprise one or more of an authentication control, an authorization control, a custody control, or a security analysis control. The accountability controls may restrict or disable access and operations of the payload platform. The accountability controls may also create a chain of custody of operations and events taking place in the accountability control system and the payload platform.
