摘要: Provided is a floating base-cutter assembly (16) for use on sugar-cane harvesters, the assembly being formed by two base-cutters. Each of the base-cutters (16) comprises a set of cutting knives (9). The base-cutter assembly (16) comprises an adjustable set of cutting knives (9) that may be selectively adjustable with respect to the ground. The base-cutter assembly (16) is also mounted on the harvester body via a set of articulated rods (2, 5). The base-cutter assembly (16) also includes an electric switch (7) and an inverted-shell-shaped component (8) that collectively control a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder (4) to articulate the rods (2,5) and maintain the set of cutting knives (9) at a redetermined distance relative to the ground surface, regardless of variations in the ground surface.

An externally splined shaft from a drive motor mounted to the flail mower housing fits into the internally splined collar to provide rotational force to the rotating cutter shaft assembly.

摘要: A mower including a housing having a cutting apparatus such as a flail mower rotatably mounted therein. The mower includes a detector which determines during mower raising when the housing is positioned at least a predetermined distance above the ground surface directly below the housing. After passage of a time period during which the detector continuously detects that the housing is positioned at least the predetermined distance from the ground, a signal is sent to an actuator mechanism which interrupts the delivery of power to the motor rotating the cutting apparatus such that the flail mower comes to a stop. In one embodiment, a locking mechanism can be provided which prevents power from being reintroduced to the mower motor after the mower is lowered until the operator purposefully disengages the locking mechanism.

摘要: A drive mechanism for driving a plurality of independently rotatable members, comprising a plurality of fluid motors each adapted to be connected to a respective one of the rotatable members, a plurality of variable delivery pumps each connected to a respective one of the fluid motors or to a respective group of the motors to supply fluid thereto, a prime mover arranged to drive the pumps, and control means operable to vary simultaneously the rates of delivery of fluid from each of the pumps thereby to vary the speed of rotation of the respective motors or groups of motors while maintaining constant at a preset value the ratio of the rates of delivery of respective pumps. The mechanism can be used in a lawn mower, having traction motors supplied from one pump and motors driving the cutting cylinders supplied from a second pump, the rates of delivery of the pumps being kept in constant proportion to give a constant number of cuts per yard for the lawn mower.
