摘要： A hair comb includes moveable gripping elements for securing the hair comb in place in the user's hair. The hair comb comprises a main body including a plurality of teeth. A selected number of teeth include a longitudinal channel which is open along one side of the tooth. A gripping member including one or more gripping teeth is movably mounted in the main body. The gripping member is moveable from an inoperative position in which the gripping teeth are disposed within the longitudinal channels of respective teeth of the main body and a clamping position in which the gripping teeth extend outwardly from the longitudinal channels to clamp the user's hair between the gripping teeth and the adjacent teeth. A resilient member urges the gripping member to the retracted position. A latch releasably locks the gripping member in a clamping position. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the latch is operative to lock the gripping members in a plurality of different positions.

摘要： A lice comb comprises a handle and a resiliently flexible elongated member having the end portions thereof connected to the handle and teeth mounted outwardly from the member and extending in the same plane as the handle. A manually movable cam member is mounted on the handle and contacts the member opposite the side holding the teeth and intermediate of the end portions to flex the member outwardly relative to the handle between a minimum flexure position wherein the teeth have a minimum spacing therebetween and a maximum flexure position wherein the teeth have a maximum spacing therebetween. As a result the comb can be used for different textures of hair and the teeth can be easily cleaned.

摘要： A novel comb which comprises a comb back, a comb-teeth module detachably mounted on the comb back, and a case member connected to one end of the comb back for serving as a handle. The comb-teeth module comprises a continuous wire wound helically into a plurality of coils in juxtaposition with each coil including a V-shaped lower portion serving as a comb tooth and a rectangular upper portion to define a channel adapted to snugly receive the comb back therein. The comb-teeth module is provided with retainer means at both ends of the wire in order to be fixed on the comb back either in a retracted condition having the comb teeth compacted, or in an extended condition having the comb teeth spaced apart. The novel comb according to the present invention further comprises a plurality of spare comb-teeth modules arranged inside the case member, and a dispenser mechanism for delivering one of the spare modules to a position for use after the soiled module has been discarded.

摘要： An implement for cleaning, massaging and grooming of the hair and scalp using a plurality of rows of tapered teeth. The teeth in cross-section have a sharply cutoff base portion which cooperates with the tapered sides of the teeth to produce a cleaning action on hair drawn over the teeth, and cause the foreign material on the hair and scalp to be deposited on the base portions of the teeth. The foreign material is removed from the instrument by drawing a flat tool across the base portions of the teeth in each row. The teeth are inclined from the perpendicular to the body of the implement to cause the hair to be drawn into the implement as it is utilized. Adjacent rows of teeth are staggered and spaced by at least one tooth width to increase the cleaning action.
