摘要： A slider has an upper sliding element, a lower sliding element and a resilient tab. The upper sliding element has two protrusions laterally formed on and protruding from the upper sliding element. Each protrusion has an inclined pushing surface. The lower sliding element is combined with the upper sliding element and has a chamber and two through hole. The through holes are defined in the lower sliding element at positions corresponding respectively to the inclined pushing surfaces of the protrusions and communicate with the chamber. The resilient tab is held in the chamber and has two legs protruding inward from two ends of the resilient tab. Each leg has an engaging end extending out from one of the through holes in the lower sliding element and abutting with the inclined pushing surface of a corresponding one of the protrusions on the upper sliding element.

摘要： A cutting tool includes a blade assembly with two retractable, opposing blades in a handle shaped for comfortable gripping. The blades may be closed and stowed by being partially retracted into the handle with a continuous motion of a single hand. The blades may similarly be extended and deployed for use with a continuous motion of a single hand. Each blade is formed with a shearing edge and a lever arm. Each lever arm is formed with a slot for engaging a blade locking tab joined to a cover for the handle. When the blade assembly is retracted into the handle, the shearing edges of the blades remain safely closed when the lever arms are released by a person using the tool. The cutting tool includes a retractable tether for preventing loss or damage to the tool should it be dropped.

摘要： A knife includes a handle and a blade coupled to the handle so as to be movable between an open position in which the blade extends from the handle, and a closed position, in which the blade is received within the handle. A detent mechanism is configured to resist movement of the blade from the closed position toward the open position while less than a threshold bias is applied to the blade toward the open position, but to release the blade to move toward the open position when at least the threshold bias is applied to the blade toward the open position. The threshold bias is of such a degree that, when the blade is released by the detent mechanism, sufficient energy is imparted by the bias to the blade to carry the blade from the closed position to the open position.
