摘要： A railroad plate and connectable shim are disclosed for fastening railroad tracks over ground having a flat or raised topography in an economically feasible manner. The instant system provides a base plate with a sloping grooved channel for reception of the lower flange of a rail to be held in place in combination with a trapezoidal shim to insure the proper cant of the rail over the various topographical areas of the country. The instant base plate, trapezoidal shim, rail and railroad tie are all fastened via a set of screws which are angled or toed-in towards the center of gravity of the rail. Stepped washers, each possessing a thickened portion, are provided between the bottom of the screw head and the upper shoulder surface of the lower flanges, both inside and outside the central vertical portion of the rail. The washers are omitted in securing back assemblies to the ties where joints are formed between the ends of adjacent rails. When a train wheel engages the crown portion of a straight or flat trackway, where trapezoidal shims are not used, the rail angulates vertically about 3.degree.. On curved trackways however, the trapezoidal shims are included in the rail assembly and the total vertical inclination of the rail is 6.degree.. Thus the train load is substantially balanced between the opposing track rails which prevents shelling and uneven wear of the train wheels and the crown surfaces of the rails contributing to increased longevity for both rails and wheels.

摘要： A device for deterring the overturning of railroad rails comprised of a generally C-shaped boltless clip for restraining the upward movement of a rail base flange. The clip is disposed within an existing spike hole in a conventional railroad tie plate with its upper arm positioned in partially overlapping, spaced relation to the rail base flange and its lower arm, which is formed into a catch, in anchored engagement beneath the tie plate and wedged into the tie supporting the rail. In the presence of rail overturn forces, the clip couples the rail base flange to the tie plate.

摘要： In a method of constructing a rail track on a concrete slab, the concrete slab is poured around anchor members for fixing tie plates supporting the rails of the rail track. The method includes the following steps: suspending the rails premounted on their tie plates above the location at which the concrete slab is to be poured, each tie plate including a base under which is disposed a temporary tie plate for accurately guiding the anchor members, adjusting the position of the rails, pouring the concrete slab up to the height of the temporary tie plates, raising the rails and removing the temporary tie plates, and accurately positioning the rails premounted on their tie plates on the concrete slab in their final position and fixing the tie plates to the anchor members.

摘要： A device suitable for use in a railway rail-and-fastening assembly to insulate a rail from a rail clip and from an anchorage for the clip includes an elongate plate-like portion, a portion depending from one side of it and two lugs projecting from the depending portion away from the plate-like portion near opposite ends thereof. In contrast to prior proposals, the device is asymetrical, a flat surface on the top of the plate-like portion having its center nearer one end of that portion than the other end. A ramp surface leads up to the flat surface from said other end. The device is preferably made wholly of glass fibre-reinforced nylon and the thickness of the plate-like portion is preferably at least 5 millimeters.
