    摘要: The present invention relates in general to leg support accessories for medical scooters, and more specifically, to a leg support accessory and method of use that elevates a compromised leg of a patient to reduce swelling and promote healing during recovery. One aspect of the leg support accessory includes a vertical member that is connected to an existing frame of a medical scooter. An elongated member may extend forward from the vertical member and include a U-shaped bracket which receives and secures a foot support. The foot support includes a closed lower end for receiving a foot and curves upwardly to contour to a heel and calf of the patient. The angle of the foot support may be adjusted for comfort. The leg support accessory is capable of being adjusted to be used for either the patient's right or left leg, depending on need. The vertical member may also be rotated to a desired position to allow easy entry and exit to and from the medical scooter while providing optimal comfort and support for the compromised leg of the patient during use.

    摘要: The disclosure demonstrates a collapsible wheeled walker having two side frames supported above a walking surface with attached wheel assemblies. The side frames are interconnected by an X-folder apparatus. The X-folder apparatus has first and second elongate elements rotatably coupled to each other with the bottom ends of the elements rotatably attached to the bottoms of the side frames, and the top ends of the elements having perpendicular support elements that in the deployed open position, engage support brackets formed on the inner sides of the side frames. The support brackets have protrusions extending from bracket support surfaces to engage complementary apertures formed in the perpendicular support elements to provide stability to the wheeled walker.

    摘要: The present invention provides a safety training device capable of being attached to an existing front-wheeled walker. The safety training device a modified ski unit, a braking mechanism, a brake cable and hose. When improper transfer techniques are utilized by a patient, the modified ski unit engages the brake and cable hose to exert a force to the braking mechanism. The braking mechanism activates a braking member on the wheel of the walker, halting further movement of the patient and walker. Simultaneously, a striking member of the braking mechanism makes contact with the frame of the walker, producing an audible cue, alerting the patient and any healthcare professionals present that improper technique is being used in a transfer.
