    摘要: A gas-filled spark gap 2 for the protection of an electrical installation includes a gastight casing 4 and two elongate electrodes 13, 14 delimiting between them an inter-electrode space. The inter-electrode space includes successively a striking chamber 17 and an arc-extinguishing chamber 20 for extinguishing the electrical arc. The arc-extinguishing chamber 20 includes mutually spaced divider plates 29. The gas-filled spark gap 2 also includes two connecting terminals 11, 12 accessible from outside the casing 4 and intended to enable electrical connection of the gas-filled spark gap 2 to the electrical installation. The two connecting terminals 11, 12 are respectively electrically connected to the two electrodes 13, 14. Finally, the gas-filled spark gap 2 includes an inert gas trapped in the casing 4.

    摘要: Disclosed are devices and methods related to flat gas discharge tubes (GDTs). In some embodiments, a plurality of GDTs can be fabricated from an insulator plate having a first side and a second side, with the insulator plate defining a plurality of openings. Each opening can be covered by first and second electrodes on the first and second sides of the insulator plate to thereby define an enclosed gas volume configured for GDT operation. Various examples related to such GDTs, including electrode configurations, opening configurations, pre-ionization features, grouping of a GDT with another GDT or device, and packaging configurations, are disclosed.

    摘要: A valve arrester comprises a serial arrangement which includes at least one nonlinear resistor and spark gaps implemented as arcing horns which are housed in slit-type arc extinction chambers whose walls are made of an electric insulation material and form a single helical blade. The latter is arranged on a central cylindrical member and adapted to produce a single helical arc which is formed from arcs struck during the arrester breakdown in the spark gaps, said arcs being joined together during their movement.
