    Abstract: An RF frequency tuning-in-silicon photoconductive-switch-based high power microwave system including a cradle; a transmission line proximate the cradle; a photosensitive silicon material switch component also proximate the cradle; a laser light source having a varied illumination incidence location on the photosensitive material; and a laser alignment component providing the location of the illumination incidence location on the photosensitive material; whereby the inductance of the switch varies as a function of the incidence location of the illumination on the photosensitive material.

    Abstract: A storage system is configured to facilitate memory operations with the memory that avoid the need for defragmentation. The system includes one or more memory devices and a memory interface operatively coupled with the one or more memory devices. The memory interface includes a start page module that provides a start page table having a page number that includes a first part of a corresponding dataset. A link page module of the memory interface provides a link page table that indicates an address for a current page of a given dataset and an address for a next page of the given dataset. Write/read page modules of the memory interface provide write/read page tables that include sub-addresses of a page where a portion of a corresponding dataset is being written/read. The memory interface executes data read, write, and erase operations that are tracked using the tables provided by the various modules.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for tracking of signals. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes filtering a first segment of an input signal, associated with a first time interval, into a first plurality of frequency bins. The method also includes detecting a signal of interest (SOI) in one of the first plurality of frequency bins. The method further includes filtering a second segment of the input signal, associated with a second time interval, into a second plurality of frequency bins. The method further includes determining movement of the SOI from a first frequency bin, of the first plurality of frequency bins, to a second frequency bin, of the second plurality of frequency bins. The method further includes tracking the SOI based on the movement determination. In some cases, the method further includes creating a composite signal based on the tracking over multiple frequency bins and multiple time intervals.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for tuning over a broad radio frequency (RF) bandwidth. A tuner implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes an input module compromising a single-conversion superheterodyne receiver to convert a first RF signal to a processed RF signal by frequency translating from a first frequency range to a lower second frequency range. The input module is also configured to receive a second RF signal occupying the second frequency range and provide the second RF signal as a pass-through RF signal. The tuner also includes a down-conversion module to convert the processed RF signal to a first intermediate frequency (IF) signal by frequency translating the processed RF signal from the second frequency range to a lower third frequency range, and to convert the pass-through RF signal to a second IF signal by frequency translating the pass-through RF signal from the second frequency range to the third frequency range.

    Abstract: An inflatable mast couplable to an underwater vehicle includes a flexible material defining an interior volume, a head structure, and a spring coupled to at least one of the flexible material and the head structure. The flexible material is designed to be filled with air to form an inflated mast structure that extends away from the underwater vehicle. The head structure is disposed at a distal end of the inflated mast structure and in some cases has a rigid shape that forms a panel having an outer surface that is flush with an outer surface of the underwater vehicle, when the mast structure is deflated and stowed. The spring is designed to provide a tensile force on at least one of the flexible material and the head structure when the flexible material is inflated to form the mast structure. A system includes the inflatable mast and a pump.

    Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for determining a probability that an encountered platform was of a specific type given that a plurality of emitters exist on the platform and each emitter has a computed probability that it is of each of a set of types. A preprocessing stage operates on a description of the environment and determines the probability of a set of events that are independent of any observation.
