Abstract: A spray material for hot and dry spray application with improved corrosion resistance, and a hot and dry spray application method with improved corrosion resistance. A hot and dry spray application method comprises pressure-feeding a mixture comprising a refractory material and a binder, toward a spraying nozzle via a pipe, and adding water to the mixture at a distal end of the spraying nozzle to apply a spray under a hot condition. The mixture contains magnesium limestone having a particle size of 0.075 mm to less than 1 mm, in an amount of 10 mass % to 50 mass %, in 100 mass % of a total amount of the refractory material and the binder. The content of magnesium limestone having a particle size of less than 0.075 mm in 100 mass % of the total amount of the refractory material and the binder is 35 mass % or less (including 0).

Abstract: It is intended to suppress flaming and smoking due to combustion of combustible substances in a certain-shaped joint material, while maintaining hot sealability of the certain-shaped joint material. A certain-shaped joint material for hot installation is obtained by: adding organic additives to a blend in a combined amount of 26 mass % to 50 mass %, with respect to and in addition to 100 mass % of the blend, wherein the blend comprises 50 mass % to 90 mass % of gibbsite type aluminum hydroxide raw material, 1 mass % to 9 mass % of clay, and 9 mass % to 23 mass % of graphite, with the remainder mainly composed of an additional refractory raw material; and subjecting the resulting mixture to kneading, forming and drying.

Abstract: A plate, a plate-holding apparatus, and a holding method for the plate for facilitating work to attach the plate to a plate-receiving metal frame of a sliding nozzle device. A gap is ensured between a to-be-held portion of the plate and an inner wall surface of an engagement groove such that, when the plate is held by engaging the to-be-held portion of the plate with the engagement groove of a holding portion of the plate-holding apparatus, the plate is movable in the longitudinal direction, the width direction, and the thickness direction of the plate.

Abstract: In the method for replacing an immersion nozzle while pushing out a used immersion nozzle by a new immersion nozzle, in order to minimize leakage of molten steel during the replacement, to enable the use of a shaped joint sealer in a joint interface, and to ensure high sealability, a concave portion is formed on the new immersion nozzle's upper plane so as to include a nozzle hole, and the shaped joint sealer is mounted in this concave portion. The immersion nozzle's upper plane is caused to slide while being pressed to the upper nozzle's lower plane.

Abstract: A coupling position switching mechanism capable of improving efficiency of a coupling position switching operation, while realizing structural simplification, and reductions in size and cost. A first coupling portion consisting of one of a slide metal frame-side coupling portion and a drive unit-side coupling portion is formed with a groove-shaped recess and a through-hole in this order from the side of a distal end of the first coupling portion, and a second coupling portion consisting of the remaining one of the slide metal frame-side coupling portion and the drive unit-side coupling portion is formed with the through-hole. The first and second coupling portions are configured such that, during a casting operation, they are coupled together by a coupling pin inserted into the through-hole of the first coupling potion and the through-hole of the second coupling portion, and during surface pressure-applying/releasing operation, they are coupled together by a second coupling pin inserted into the groove-shaped recess of the first coupling portion and the through-hole of the second coupling portion.
