    Abstract: An ebike comprises a front wheel, a rear wheel, a frame structure supported on the front wheel and the rear wheel, the frame structure including a hollow tube (e.g., a down tube) having a converging inner surface, and a battery assembly configured to be coupled to the frame structure in an installed position at least partially in the hollow tube. The converging inner surface is configured such that at least a portion of the battery assembly is supported within the hollow tube by the converging inner surface when the battery assembly is at least partially positioned in the hollow tube. In one embodiment, the battery assembly comprises a battery housing and a resilient lateral support, wherein the resilient lateral support resiliently laterally supports a portion of the battery housing in the hollow tube when the battery assembly is positioned in the hollow tube.

    Abstract: A bicycle comprises a wheel, a frame supported on the wheel and including a tube hole, a motor mounted to the frame, a battery including battery hole extending completely through the battery, and a battery mounting pin extending through the battery hole and tube hole to secure the battery to the frame. In one embodiment, the tube includes spaced-apart first and second walls, with the tube hole through the first wall and a threaded hole through the second wall and aligned with the tube hole. Preferably, the battery mounting pin includes a threaded end, and the battery mounting pin is positioned through the tube hole and through the battery hole with the threaded end threaded into the threaded hole. The invention is also embodied in a method of mounting a battery to an ebike including the steps of aligning the battery hole with the tube hole and inserting a battery mounting pin through the tube hole and completely through the battery hole.

    Abstract: A bicycle seat post assembly includes a lower seat support secured to the frame, an upper seat support secured to the seat and movable relative to the lower seat support, and an adjusting mechanism coupling the lower seat support to the upper seat support. The adjusting mechanism includes a powered actuator engageable with both the lower seat support and the upper seat support and configured to move the upper seat support relative to the lower seat support, and a coupling device selectively connecting the powered actuator to one of the lower seat support or the upper seat support. The coupling device has a connected state wherein the powered actuator is operatively connected to the one of the lower seat support or the upper seat support and a disconnected state wherein the powered actuator is operatively disconnected to the one of the lower seat support or the upper seat support.

    Abstract: A bicycle comprises front and rear wheels, a frame, a seat post, and a damping member. An upper portion of the seat post is movable relative to the frame between a first position and a second position. The damping member couples the seat post to the frame to dampen movement of the upper portion of the seat post. The damping member can be positioned at least partially in a top tube of the frame. Preferably, the seat post flexes when the upper portion of the seat post moves. The frame further includes a securing location for securing the seat post, and the securing location is a distance from the upper end of the seat tube that is at least 30% of a length of a seat tube. The seat post has a front-to-rear width, and the seat tube has a rear wall spaced from the seat post by a gap that is at least 25% of a front-to-rear width of the seat post.

    Abstract: A bicycle wheel comprises a rim and a valve assembly. The rim includes a radially inner wall having an inner opening and a radially outer wall having an outer opening. A first portion of the rim includes a first securing feature (e.g., inner threads). The valve assembly is positioned in the inner opening and outer opening and includes a second securing feature (e.g., outer threads) engaging the first securing feature. The rim can include a plate that defines the first engaging feature. The valve assembly preferably includes a valve stem and a resilient bumper coupled to the valve stem and aligned with a second portion of the rim. The valve assembly can further include a seal member compressed between the valve stem and the rim.     Abstract: A bicycle saddle comprising a base, a rear portion positioned on the base, and a front portion positioned on the base. The rear portion supports the sit bones of the rider and includes a first resilient material having a first hardness (e.g., 45-55 Shore C), and the front portion supports the genitalia of the rider and includes a second resilient material having a second hardness (e.g., 35-45 Shore C) less than the first hardness. The front portion includes side portions having a first thickness above a highest part of the side sections, and the side portions are separated by a central portion having a second thickness less than the first thickness. Preferably, a lower surface of the central portion is substantially unsupported to form a trampoline-like structure.
