Abstract:
A system and method is disclosed for forwarding location dependent messages from a message sender's mobile cellular device to an intended recipient's mobile cellular device. The method is principally practiced in a communication network comprising a plurality of mobile cellular devices having location determining capabilities such as triangulation and GPS. In an embodiment, the message sender identifies an intended message recipient and selects a geographic location and corresponding radius of circumference defining geographic pre-conditions for transmitting the location dependent message to the intended message recipient. The message is first transmitted to a central server which periodically monitors the geographic location of the intended recipient in real time or near real-time to determine if the intended recipient enters within the radius of circumference of the geographic location selected by the message sender. The message is transmitted from the central server when it is determined that the intended recipient has satisfied the geographic pre-conditions. In other embodiments, a cellular mobile device user is alerted when one or more contacts of the user arrives within a certain geographic proximity of the user.
Abstract:
There are provided methods and systems enabling a customer to order products from an audio advertisement, for example from a radio advertisement heard in an automobile, using only a standard audio receiver and mobile telephone. Pre-registration by the retailer advertising the product enables the storing of pertinent product information by a fulfillment center. Pre-approval of mobile telephone service(s) enables billing to be performed through a customer's mobile telephone account. The actual customer order is completed by simply dialing the telephone number transmitted in the advertisement. The remainder of the fulfillment and billing process is substantially automated. More specifically, the fulfillment center uses the dialed telephone number to determine the ordered product and the calling telephone number to determine delivery information. If the calling number is through an approved mobile telephone service provider and caller information can be determined, fulfillment occurs automatically with billing through the mobile phone account. If the calling number is not through an approved service or caller information is not determinable, the call is directed for other processing.
Abstract:
There are provided new and improved methods and systems for producing machine-generated handwriting having realistic human appearance. In various embodiments, the handwriting may include characteristics of particular classes and/or characteristics of particular individuals. The handwriting includes an appropriate degree of randomness so as to be realistic in appearance. In a particular embodiment of the invention, at least one sample of a particular individual's handwriting is scanned and analyzed to determine the characteristics thereof. The handwriting characteristics include a degree of randomness representative of the scanned handwriting sample(s). The handwriting may be printed on a conventional printer, for example to generate a communication for a recipient.
Abstract:
There are provided methods and systems for manufacturing consumer products such as clothing. In accordance with the invention, customer measurements and preferences are collected by a unique, small-footprint or private custom clothing shop. These measurements and preferences are stored and used in association with the manufacturer of custom clothing. Ordered clothing is manufactured through the provision of patterns, instructions and materials to skilled, pre-qualified sewing associates. In one embodiment of the invention, the consumer products are “broken” into discrete, separately-manufacturable pieces, each piece for assembly by a separate, geographically remote, skilled labor with final assembly of the various pieces is performed at a centralized location. Customized clothing can thus be manufactured by a highly skilled, cost effective and geographically disperse labor force, using electronically stored data and electronic communications to both coordinate manufacturing and ensure high-quality results.
Abstract:
Provided are methods and devices for providing a resource. In one example, a method includes receiving a request to render a resource, the request comprising item information associated with an item, extracting an item identifier from the item information, and determining, by the web server, whether the user device corresponds to an existing user of a mobile application corresponding to the request. In response to determining the user device corresponds to an existing user of the mobile application, the method may include determining a customized URI associated with the item and associated with the mobile application based on the extracted item identifier and transmitting the customized URI. In response to determining the user device does not correspond to an existing user of the mobile application, the method may include transmitting a URL of a web page associated with the mobile application to the user device.
Abstract:
Provided are a system and method for acquiring users. In one example, the method includes providing a rebate offer with respect to a product, receiving, by an application server via the Internet, a request for payment of the rebate and proof of purchase of the product associated with the rebate via a mobile application executing on a mobile device, determining, by the application server, whether the mobile application executing on the mobile device corresponds to a new user of the mobile application, and in response to determining that the mobile application executing on the mobile device corresponds to a new user of the mobile application, authorizing payment of the rebate to a payment account previously registered through the mobile application executing on the mobile device.
Abstract:
According to some embodiments, a light bulb may include a base adapted to be coupled to a power socket, lighting circuitry supporting at least one lighting element to provide illumination, a communication element to exchange information with at least one remote device, and a receiving portion. An extendable sensor mount may include a first end attached to be attached to the receiving portion of the light bulb and a second end, opposite the first end, extendable with respect to the light bulb. A sensor may be coupled to the second end of the extendable sensor mount, and data collected by the sensor may be transmitted to the at least one remote device via the communication element of the light bulb.
Abstract:
There are provided methods and systems for providing viewers of a digital image with information about identifiable and scenes within the image. In an embodiment, digital images, uploaded to a host website, are customized through the incorporation of some number of selectable informational links and other text based information to provide viewers of the image real-time access to social and advertising related information regarding certain identifiable objects and scenes in the image. The selectable information links are incorporated within and around the digital image in a process referred to herein as image tagging.

Abstract:
A system and method is provided to alert users if another user has entered within a prescribed geographic region selected by the user. According to a method embodiment, a method for communicating among a plurality of users over a wireless communication network using location based messaging comprises: receiving at a central server a location based message from a user, said message including prescribed geographic region information, extracting the prescribed geographic region information from the location based message at the central server; determining at the central server whether another user has entered a prescribed geographic region corresponding to said prescribed geographic information included in said location based message, and transmitting an alert message from the central server to the mobile device of the user sending said location based message, alerting the user that another user has entered the prescribed geographic region.
