Abstract:
A temporary line projection system designed to be grasped by hand and moved, by a single human operator, into a desired location as, for example, along the sidelines of a football field adjacent to where a first down line is to be projected. The system comprises a movable structure that is dimensioned and arranged to be supported by and project upwardly from an athletic field surface. A laser source is supported by the movable structure and is maintained by the movable structure at an elevated location relative to the athletic field surface. This allows the laser source to direct optical energy downward upon the field while the movable structure is maintained substantially in a first orientation relative to the athletic field surface. A sensing arrangement is operative to determine when the movable structure is no longer maintained substantially in the first orientation and a switch is operative to disable the laser source when the movable structure is no longer maintained substantially in the first orientation.
Abstract:
A credential management and administration system and method by which the documented eligibility of persons to receive benefits, services, access to premises or events, and the like is centrally administered. In one embodiment, credentials are distributed to the individuals electronically, via communication network, to respective portable device having a corresponding display. Each display is configured to visually present certain qualifying information that is updated at periodic intervals. Alternatively, the qualifying information may be presented via wireless means to a suitable receiver proximate the location where services are delivered.
Abstract:
A nozzle discharge assembly includes a housing having a connection for receiving a pressurized supply of liquid and a nozzle having a discharge orifice movable relative to the housing. A mechanism controls a movement of the discharge orifice so that the discharge orifice moves in a pattern relative to the housing for creating a substantially helical stream of liquid when the pressurized supply of liquid flows through the discharge orifice.
Abstract:
An electrical device in accordance with an embodiment of the present application includes a display in which the reflectivity of the display is alterable to allow the display to display information to the user and to serve as a mirror for the user.
Abstract:
An umbrella in accordance with an embodiment of the present application includes a canopy that is extendable into an extra wide configuration to cover two users. In accordance with one embodiment the umbrella opens to a first open position to provide coverage for one person and expands to a second open position to provide coverage for a second person.
Abstract:
A device for discharging a stream of fluid is presented. The device includes a water pump handle and trigger mechanism that are selectively connectable to a ratchet mechanism to allow incremental discharge of the fluid. The device includes a body accommodating a water reservoir and a fluid line extending through the body. A spring urges the ratchet bar to allow the discharge of fluid during the spring-induced movement of said ratchet bar. A trigger mechanism arrests the spring-induced movement of the ratchet bar.
Abstract:
A cellular telephone in accordance with an embodiment of the present application is operable to transmit voice data and additional digital data together to another similarly functional cellular telephone without the need for an external server. The cellular telephone operates like a server to coordinate transmission of all data between the cellular telephones.
Abstract:
A hands-free aural device holder for hands-free use of an aural device that is designed to be held up to a user's ear is connectable to the device and defines at least a portion of a pocket for receiving the top of a user's ear when the holder is connected to the device. The pocket thus formed is configured to cover a top of the user's ear when the user's ear is received in the pocket such that the holder and the aural device connected to the holder are supported and retained on the user's ear, thereby allowing hands-free use of the aural device connectable to the holder.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing a viscous fluid product, including a pump having an inlet; an outlet; a cylinder; a piston in the cylinder; and a piston rod attached to the piston with its first end being exposed. The pump pumps viscous fluid product from a container to the outlet when the inlet is submerged in the viscous fluid product and the piston rod is axially moved relative to the cylinder. The device further includes a handle attached to the piston rod; a nozzle rotatably mounted on the handle around a rotation axis, in fluid communication with the outlet, and having a discharge orifice offset from the rotation axis; and a mechanism for rotating the nozzle around the rotation axis when the piston rod is axially moved relative the cylinder so that the discharge orifice moves in a circular pattern for dispensing the viscous liquid product in a substantially helical pattern.
