摘要: A method and a device for use in conjunction with an imaging modality (202), for controlling the angular orientation of a needle-shaped object (212) while moving it along a path (214) from a given entry point to a given target point in a body during a percutaneous intervention. The device comprises a support unit (502, 602, 702, 802) for supporting a guiding unit (506, 706), which support unit provides a pair of parallel control planes (604, 606) which are at least partially detectable by the imaging modality. The guiding unit establishes a guiding axis (612, 818) substantially perpendicular to the pair of parallel control planes along which guiding axis the needle-shaped object is translatable. The angular orientation of an imaging plane (204) applied by the imaging modality determines a reference for the angular orientation of the pair of parallel control planes. By aligning the pair of parallel control planes with the imaging plane, the guiding axis is in correlation with the path from the entry point to the target point.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and an examination apparatus (10) for the observation of a catheter (43) in a vessel system. First, a 3D model of the vessel system is reconstructed with the help of differently oriented X-ray projections (P1A, . . .) generated by a C-arm system (20) during the injection of a contrast agent. Next, a movement corridor (M) of the catheter (43) is determined from the 3D model. During an examination procedure, current projections (P) are generated showing an image (43′) of the catheter that can be registered with the reconstructed 3D model and/or the movement corridor (M). Based on the known current location (43″) of the catheter in the 3D model of the vessel geometry or the movement corridor (M), an optimal projection direction (dopt) can be determined and assumed by the C-arm system (20) for the next projections to be generated.

摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the therapeutic embolization of an aneurysm (1) as well as to a catheter. A plugging material (2) is injected via a catheter (5) inserted into the aneurysm (1). During the injection, the spatial position of an active locator (3), such as a magnetic field sensor for example, which is fitted to the tip of the catheter (5) is observed by a locating device (8, 9). If emergence of the catheter tip from the aneurysm (1) is detected by a monitoring unit (7), said monitoring unit stops the further supply of plugging material to the catheter (5).
