Abstract:
Examples methods and systems for distinguishing winks from other eye motions are described. In some examples, a method for distinguishing winks from other eye motions may account for changes in orientation of a computing device relative to a user, calibrate eye gesture recognition, or increase efficiency of the computing device. A computing device may be configured to receive sensor data corresponding to an eye and determine a distribution of magnitude changes in the sensor data over an interval of time. The computing device may identify clusters that correspond to ranges of magnitude changes within the distribution and use the clusters as reference data to identify ranges of sensor data for different types of eye motions, including differentiating winks from clusters indicative of ranges of normal eye activity and blinks.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to winking to capture image data using an image capture device that is associated with a head-mountable device (HMD). An illustrative method includes detecting a wink gesture at an HMD. The method also includes causing an image capture device to capture image data, in response to detecting the wink gesture at the HMD.
Abstract:
A logo device for a vehicle is disclosed. The logo device comprises a first shell including a transparent region forming a logo pattern and a nontransparent region and a second shell connected with the first shell. The first shell and the second shell form a sealed cavity therebetween. A bottom plate is disposed in the sealed cavity, and a light guide plate disposed between the bottom plate and the first shell. The light guide plate includes one or more grooves disposed thereon. A circuit board is disposed between the bottom plate and the second shell, including a plurality of illuminating elements thereon. The one or more grooves on the light guide plate receives the plurality of illuminating elements. The light guide plate is configured to direct at least a part of the light generated by the illuminating element toward the transparent region of the first shell.
Abstract:
In an extracting step, the extracting portion obtains a linked component composed of a plurality of mutually linking pixels from a character string region composed of a plurality of characters, and extracts section elements from the character string region, the section elements each being surrounded by a circumscribing figure circumscribing to the linked component. In the first altering step, the first altering portion combines section elements at least having a mutually overlapping part among the extracted section elements so as to prepare a new section element. In the first selecting step, the first selecting portion determines a reference size in advance and selects section elements having a size greater than the reference size, from among the section elements altered in the first altering step.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a phase change ink comprising (a) a carbon black pigment, (b) a bis-urethane, and (c) a phase change ink carrier, said carrier comprising (i) a branched triamide and (ii) a Fischer-Tropsch wax having an average peak molecular weight of from about 300 to about 800 and a polydispersity of from about 1.001 to about 3.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to proximity sensing for wink detection. An illustrative method includes receiving data from a receiver portion of a proximity sensor. The receiver portion is disposed at a side section of a head-mountable device (HMD). When a wearer wears the HMD, the receiver portion is arranged to receive light reflected from an eye area of the wearer, the proximity sensor detects a movement of the eye area, and the data represents the movement. The method includes determining that the data corresponds to a wink gesture. The method also includes selecting a computing action to perform, based on the wink gesture. The method further includes performing the computing action.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a thermoplastic flame-retardant alloy and a method for preparing it, composed of the following components as below (parts by weight): 5-94 parts of ABS resin, 3-94 parts of polyester or co-polyester or the mixture of both, 1-50 parts of brominated flame retardant, 1-10 parts of flame-retardant aid, 0.001-30 parts of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), 0.001-2 parts of anti-dripping agent and 0.1-6 parts of processing aid. Comparing with the ABS flame retardant presenting the prior art, the thermoplastic flame-retardant alloy features better glossiness, scratch resistance, stronger ultraviolet radiation resistance and better mechanical property, thus making up for the disadvantage that the flame-retardant ABS is prone to become yellow on some occasions with high weatherability requirements. Furthermore, the preparation method of the thermoplastic flame-retardant alloy for the present invention is successive, stable and feasible.
Abstract:
A system and method of combining group buying with regular selling is provided. A group-buying company advertises a first product for sale from a group-buying website. The first product is a group-buying deal with deep discount offered for a short period of time. The group-buying websites also provides recommendation information on one or more products based on the first product. The one or more recommended products are supplied by another non-group-buying company. Consumers are able to purchase the one or more recommended products from the group-buying website.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented methods, systems facilitating the methods, and computer-readable medium storing computer readable code, which, when executed, performs the methods are provided for online to offline social commerce services. The methods may include (1) receiving a request from a content provider to post a content including an advertisement of a item for sale, (2) causing display of the content to a designated group, (3) receiving a request from a user to purchase the item after reviewing the content, (4) receiving payment for the item from the user, and (5) informing the user that the purchase is executed. The content can be a blog message, wherein the designated group includes followers of the content provider's blog, or the content can be a game, wherein the designated group includes players of the game.
Abstract:
Amphiphilic cationic polymers comprising a biocompatible amphiphile linked to an organic cation are provided. The polymers complex with therapeutic agents and facilitate delivery of such therapeutic agents, particularly therapeutic nucleic acids, both in vitro and in vivo. Accordingly, the invention further provides methods of facilitating delivery of therapeutic and/or diagnostic agents to a cell and methods of treating a condition, such as a disease or infection, in an organism using the amphiphilic cationic polymers of the invention.
