Abstract:
A combined cosmetic jar and applicator storage device consisting of a structural body which provides a pair of back-to-back shallow recesses for holding a cosmetic material and an applicator, respectively. Two removable covers are carried by the body, one to close each of the recesses. The cover for one recess has a portion which telescopes into and is retained by a cooperable portion of the body, and has another portion consisting of a hinged flap which can be swung between open and closed positions to provide quick access to the applicator. Enhanced ease of use, coupled with improved function and an aesthetically pleasing physical appearance, are thus realizeable.
Abstract:
An electronic stabilizer having a variable frequency soft start circuit, said circuit having a secondary coil coupled to a drive transformer of the electronic stabilizer. In the initial period when power is connected, the secondary coil may supply an induced voltage to a capacitor to generate a forward voltage to connect primary transistor to allow an inductance element to parallel the secondary coil to reduce the total inductance. The operating frequency of an LC oscillating circuit of the stabilizer hence increases. Relatively, the energy obtainable by the fluorescent lamp is reduced. The soft start circuit is further provided with a discharge loop of a secondary transistor for discharging of the capacitor to ensure that soft starts may be achieved under any conditions.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a system configured to provide dynamic power management for a plurality of energy cells comprises an array of energy cells for providing a primary current path to a load, and a respective power stage for each energy cell. The power stages are configured to transfer power to and from each respective energy cell. The system further comprises a temporary energy storage node enabling energy transfer from a first plurality of energy cells comprised by the array of energy cells to a second plurality of energy cells comprised by the array of energy cells. In one embodiment, the system further comprises a feedback system for maintaining the temporary energy storage node at a constant average power.
Abstract:
A cosmetic compact providing a molded plastic base, a first cover and combined grip handle and second cover, all disposed over the base. The first cover is hinged to the base. The combined second cover and grip handle are selectively removable from the base, and carry an applicator device which when stored, is disposed between the first cover and base. The arrangement enables the user to quickly open the first cover and immediately remove and manipulate the combined grip handle and second cover and attached applicator device, for application of cosmetic to the face or body. An especially neat, compact construction results.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an energy storage system and related method. According to one embodiment, such a system comprises a power management system and a plurality of energy banks coupled to the power management system, wherein each of the plurality of energy banks is capable of being independently discharged through the power management system. The power management system is configured to select at least one of the plurality of energy banks to transfer energy between the energy storage system and a machine powered using the energy storage system. According to one embodiment, the method comprises determining an energy transfer requirement of the machine powered by the energy storage system, selecting at least one of the plurality of energy banks for responding to the energy transfer requirement, and transferring energy between the selected energy bank(s) and the machine according to the energy transfer requirement.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a smart photovoltaic (PV) panel comprises a plurality of PV cell groups each including at least one PV cell. The smart PV panel also includes at least one serial boost combiner circuit (SBCC) configured to receive an output from the plurality of PV cell groups as inputs. Each SBCC comprises several boost blocks connected in parallel, each of the boost blocks including a switching device and a respective boost block output directly connected to an output node of the SBCC. In addition a corresponding power terminal of each of the switching devices is directly connected to a common ground node of the SBCC. In one embodiment, the smart PV panel also includes a power inverter coupled to the one or more SBCCs and a communication unit interfaced with a local controller.

Abstract:
A RF variable gain amplifier with an extended linear tuning range is disclosed. The variable gain amplifier employs a wide swing cascode mirror formed by two cascode transistors and two gain transistors. The two cascode transistors track each others so are the two gain transistor. The gain transistors operate on the saturation region.
Abstract:
An analog transmit side crosstalk cancellation system is disclosed which is located at or near the connector of a communication channel, cable, or backplane. When configured as a connector, multiple signal paths are provided within the cancellation system. Input nodes and output nodes provide access into the connector of a received signal and out of the connector for processed signals. The crosstalk canceller comprises a delay, a filter, and an amplifier. These elements operate in conjunction to generate crosstalk cancellation signals. For a particular received signal, cancellation signals are combined therewith from one or more adjacent channels. The crosstalk cancellation system may be configured as part of a connector or an intermediary device between the communication device or card and conductors. The connector may be attached to the communication device or as part of the cable.
Abstract:
A solenoid operated valve has first flux collector, bobbin with coil and an armature assembled onto a valve body with a tubular housing received over the body and first portions of the housing, in the form of tabs, deformed over the bobbin flange to retain the assembly. A second flux collector with adjustable pole price is then assembled adjacent the bobbin and retained in place by deformation of second portions of the housing. The pole piece is accessible exteriorly for adjustment through the end of the housing.
