摘要: The present disclosure relates to a dual energy storage system that includes a lithium ion battery electrically coupled in parallel with a lead acid battery, where the lithium ion battery and the lead-acid battery are electrically coupled to a vehicle bus, where the lithium ion battery open circuit voltage (OCV) partially matches the lead-acid battery OCV such that the lead-acid battery OCV at 100% of the lead-acid battery state of charge (SOC) is about equal to the lithium ion battery OCV at 50% of the lithium ion battery SOC.

摘要: Systems, methods and apparatus for controlling operation a hybrid powertrain are disclosed that use low power storage and motor/generator components in line haul operations. In one embodiment, a line haul drive cycle includes a low power motor/generator executing a power assistance operation of the hybrid powertrain powered by electricity from a low power storage responsive to a monitoring by a line haul controller of ascensions of the hybrid vehicle at or near a constant speed over an uneven terrain. The line haul drive cycle further includes the low power motor/generator executing a regenerative braking operation of the hybrid powertrain supplying captured electric energy to the low power storage responsive to a monitoring by the line haul controller of descensions of the hybrid vehicle at or near the constant speed over the uneven terrain.

摘要: An embodiment relates to a method for predicting a voltage dip in a vehicle electrical system before a planned start of a load in a motor vehicle. The embodiment operates to ascertain a value of supply current expected to be required after the start of the load. An electrical voltage source and an energy store connected in parallel to a voltage source via the vehicle electrical system provide the supply current for operating the load. The energy store blocks a charge current into the energy store or blocks a discharge current out of the energy store based on a vehicle electrical system voltage of the vehicle electrical system being greater than a maximum value. Based on an instantaneous value of the vehicle electrical system voltage, the embodiment further ascertains a proportion of the supply current that the voltage source generates as a source current without the energy store until the vehicle electrical system voltage has fallen to the maximum value.

The first energy storage system can be coupled to an electrical load. 摘要: A power delivery system for an electric vehicle provides efficient power management for either continuous or intermittent high-performance operation, using a boost stage and an on-board charging circuit. A main battery, configured as a high-capacity power source, supplies power to the electric motor under normal load conditions. An auxiliary boost battery assists the main battery in supplying a high-level current at a higher discharge rate thereby causing the motor to operate in a high-performance drive mode. A charging circuit recharges the boost battery from the main battery during operation of the motor. The charging circuit also maintains a charge balance between the boost battery and the main battery when the two batteries have different chemistries. In one embodiment, participation of the boost battery in powering the electric motor can be controlled automatically according to sensed changes in the load. In another embodiment, power management can be based on timed intervals.

摘要: A vehicle includes an energy storage, a motor driver, an electric motor, and circuitry. The motor driver is configured to convert direct-current power to alternating-current power and to convert alternating-current power to direct-current power. The electric motor is connected to the energy storage via the motor driver to move the vehicle. The circuitry is configured to drive the electric motor with a first current value to consume excess electric power. The first current value is different from a minimum current value to generate regeneration power arising from a braking force. The circuitry is configured to drive the electric motor with a second current value smaller than the first current value if a temperature of the electric motor is higher than a first threshold temperature or a temperature of the motor driver is higher than a second threshold temperature.
