A first entity, which may be a hosting service capability layer (SCL), may receive a request from an issuer to announce a resource. The first entity may create a representation of the resource. The representation may be referred to as an announced resource. The first entity may send an announce resource request to a second entity (e.g., an announced-to SCL), which may be registered with the first entity. The announce resource request may be sent over an mid interface. The first entity may receive a first response from the second entity over the mid interface indicating that the second entity created the announced resource.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for triggering procedures to handover an ongoing communication session between a mobile station (MS) and a correspondent node (CoN) from via a first network of a first type to via a second network of a different type. Communication session continuity is maintained by transferring communication session context information when a handover is imminent from a network component in a first network path to a network component in a second network path, and by forwarding downlink and uplink signals via the network components in both the first and second network paths until the ongoing communication session can be established via the second network path. The context information includes the session communication parameters, such that the second network path can allocate resources and establish routing between the MS and the CoN.

    摘要: A communication method, system and components are provided that includes use of traffic predictions determined by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). Preferably, the invention is implemented by predicting traffic in a wireless local area network (WLAN), between a WTRU and a WLAN access point (AP) that begins by determining a traffic level at the WTRU. Traffic prediction information is sent by the WTRU to the AP where it is used in conjunction with the generation of commands sent to WTRUs to control the manner of access by WTRUs to the WLAN via the AP. WTRUs receive instructions as to admission and are preferrably configured to receive and implement instructions to adjust the contention window used by the WTRU to transmit data.
