摘要： A small-sized value medium processing device discriminates the genuine/false status of coins, and reads or write processes an electric information recording medium. The value medium processing device allows a coin slotted into a slot to roll along a coin path for discriminating the coin genuine/false status wherein the coin in the coin path can be cancelled by a canceling device. Slots for a coin and for an electric value recording medium are at least partly common with each other. A detecting device for the electric value recording medium is provided in the electric value medium slot. A deactivating device deactivates the canceling device based on detection by the detecting device.

A first ranking among a plurality of reduced registration images is determined based on the similarities of the plurality of reduced registration images with respect to each of the reduced registration images used as a reference. Further, a second ranking among the plurality of reduced registration images is determined based on the similarities of the plurality of reduced registration images with respect to a reduced comparison image. Then, in the case where none of first ranking data has a ranking correlation value with respect to second ranking data equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, it is determined that authentication has failed.

The coin selector detects the passage of a coin based upon a signal from a coin sensor disposed downstream of a real/fake discriminating unit formed along a coin passage through which the coin moves. A moving direction changing unit for a coin is provided on the coin passage downstream of the real/fake discriminating unit and the coin passage downstream of the moving direction changing unit is disposed on a plane different from a plane on which the moving direction changing unit is present.

A coin passage is also connected to receive coins from the insertion slot. The digital still camera displays the smiling face as a smiling face detection target and a non-target detected face on the through image in a distinctly different manner to discriminate the smiling face detection target from the non-target detected face. For example, when persons in an event such as a party are photographed in a relatively large viewing angle, an auto photographing operation may be performed in response to smiling face detections on condition that at least two members in the party are smiling.

摘要： A vehicle control apparatus and methodology relate to an exhaust gas sensor and sensor heater associated with an exhaust passage of a vehicle engine. The exhaust gas sensor is selectively heated to an applicable activation temperature by the heater so that the sensor may output a normal and accurate sensing signal. The heating must take place, however, without causing damage to the sensor such as that resulting from condensation that may occur within the exhaust passage as a result of engine operation and environmental conditions.

The system checks the authenticity of the check information corresponding to the received money information, and stores in the master processing unit the money information corresponding to the check information detected as a current money.
