    摘要: A method of inspecting the H1 weld between the shroud head flange and the upper shroud section utilizing ultrasonic scanning includes the steps of positioning a phased array ultrasonic probe on a top surface of the shroud head flange, emitting an ultrasonic beam from the ultrasonic probe, electronically steering the ultrasonic beam to scan the weld joining the shroud head flange and the upper shroud section with the beam moving from an outer surface of the shroud head flange to an inner surface of the shroud head flange, and acquiring scan data over the length of the scan. The ultrasonic probe is moved circumferentially along the top surface of the shroud head flange in increments of between about 0.05 inch to about 0.5 inch with the H1 weld ultrasonically scanned after each incremental move.

    摘要: A system and method for detecting an unauthorized attempt to access components in a housing of a portable electronic device. The housing is secured in a closed state by a mechanical fastener that couples a first portion of the housing to a second portion of the housing. The mechanical fastener has a top end disposed within a recess in the housing. A ball bearing is first disposed within the recess above the top end of the fastener, after which at least a portion of the recess is filled with a curable resin. Later, a portion of the housing proximate the recess is visually inspected. In response to the visual inspection, a determination is made as to whether there has been an unauthorized attempt to access components in the housing.

    摘要: A semiconductor imaging device comprising MOS or CMOS pixel circuits having pixel pads separated by insulating material and having a conductive migration blocking layer applied over the pixel pads. The conductive migration blocking layer comprises an electrically conductive material that is inert with respect to selected photoelectric conversion layer materials, and may be formed as individual contacts, or formed as a deposited layer and etched to form distinct pixels covering the underlying pixel pad material. Thereafter, a photoelectric conversion layer is applied over the migration blocking layer material. The basic device is completed by applying a field electrode layer over the photoelectric conversion layer.

    摘要: A CMOS image sensor combining CMOS read-out integrated circuits (ROICs) and photodiode on active pixel (POAP) technology with quantum dot (PbS-CQD) detector material. This approach provides sensors and systems that are easily manufacturable with high yields The approach dramatically lowers the cost per pixel, reduces the pixel size, and increases the pixel count of SWIR sensors and cameras. The PbS-CQD detector material provides optical performance approaching that of InGaAs, and outperforms it in some respects. PbS-CQD detectors include multi-layered conformal thin-films, applied to the ROICs in liquid form. The films are perfectly suited for application over wide surface areas, limited only by wafer or substrate size.
